How is it that you are in court 4 times a year?

We don't have to measure decibels cause the law doesn't require us too.

Re: Top Ten EASY Ways to Dodge a Ticket!

Appreciate the extra input and while I've heard the end of the month story, having worked for a GTA service and now onto another large service outside the GTA, I 100% disagree with the end of the month conspiracy concept. City government doesn't not have a write more tickets dialogue with the police service, that would be dumb, dangerous and ...

So one guy died out of 1600?

Not good (especially if you're that guy), but death when a tazer was used stats in north America are closer to 1 in 24,500 uses.

Still think it's the Tazer, or it's maybe the guy at the end of the prongs?

Just sayin'

After you lose your detector of course...and you don't even want to know what your insurance will do to you (without lube) if you get caught running with a detector.

Our detector - detectors are pretty sharp BTW.

Top Ten EASY Ways to Dodge a Ticket!

1. Follow the speed limit.
Within reason 10-15 km/h is tolerated to give drivers the benefit of minor inattentiveness and speedometer calibrations. Don't even think about being the driver moving faster than the flow of traffic. If you srand out, you'll be noticed.

2. Wear your seatbelt...Always.
It will save your life. A good friend of mine was ...

Re: "Bilingual Defence" - Where it can be used

Does anyone think that this process is abusive?

You clearly speak English as you've noted by your near flawless command of the language...so you would have understood the sign and for some other reason didn't obey it.

Isn't that the real issue here?

What would you say if a fluently English person disobeyed a stop sign and ran over a child, your ...

Dialogue is good.

However this guy's shirt was torn, from a previous assault, had he already been described to police as violent or ...

1) Ok we disagree, how was this guy not A POTENTIAL THREAT, people who assault police are the ones who moves slow to comply while they formulate an improvised attack, almost every time I've been assaulted it came out of a situation where some was hesitant to comply, it's recognized indicia of assaultive behaviour...why else wouldn't you immediately ...

Re: When officers break the law...

You found a few articles which is good...but historically speaking people in a position of trust are punished more severely than the general public.

You haven't convinced yet that we don't get it worse.

You get into a collision, reporting center, no charges.

I get into one, charges plus internal discipline by way of police act charges. Yeah we ...

Re: Ticket but not in my car

Being charged can be unfortunate, but is it wrong?

Wrong is being convicted for something you didn't do...if the police had an eyewitness, even a mistaken one, and didn't pursue their duties, that would be wrong too?

It's unfortunate that you find yourself in this predicament, get a lawyer...and best of luck. The truth generally has a way of ...

So you want to show yourself obeying the law?

What if it showed you breaking the law? Would you turn the tape over to police and request your ticket?

Re: Should this driver be charged with Careless Driving?

Actually careless driving is possibly the easiest charge in the HTA to prove. Having investigated over 1000 collisions, I almost always lay a Careless Driving charge. A collision is almost always as a result of carelessness by one or both drivers.

Don't get me wrong, there is generally some leeway in court and I work with everyone charged to try ...

And while you may believe slower cars cause accident check the NHTSI website to see if you can find any proof of this.

But SEVERITY of injuries is, according to the laws (not common laws, but the laws of...) physics indicated that energy has to go somewhere.

Slower speeds means great reaction time and reduced carnage.

It's fairly common and has been upheld, despite being challenged, by the courts.
