Re: going 50 over the limit
There is a massive amount of technical info on radar and laser use at http://www.radardetector.net/ if Tager was willing to take the time and search for the details.

Re: going 50 over the limit
Do the laser/radar manuals not specify an accuracy tolerance of 2+/- kph?? I'm sure I read that on another forum somewhere.
This would make an enormous difference in this example.

They will not bring to your attention the officer's absence, unless it's a very busy court day and the Crown is looking to "dump" one or two cases. It's far more likely he would try to "bluff" you in to pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
It's up to you to confirm if the officer is present and make your decision accordingly. Even if you plead not ...

Holy!.... I just can't believe I did this... Blitz weekend, divided highway just west of Kitchener, cruiser ahead has motorist stopped, I passed by slow and "rubbernecked" a tad, 10 more seconds passed when I realized I hadn't change to the left lane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After all this major discussion on this subject, I STILL forgot about this law ...

After a lot of thought (trying to build the puzzle with almost NO pieces), I'm quite willing to believe there is a plausible explanation here.
But what I find surprising, after reading the 80+ replies to the article, is just how vocal folks are against policing in general these days. I mean, there was maybe 2 or 3 replies in support of the OPP and ...

I suspect IMPAIRED driving!
Look, if the 6000 or so impoundments to date were related to this kind of driving, there would be no opposition to Bill 172. But we all know that is not the case. Re: If I dont get disclosure
I experience the same threat every time I pass an oncoming car in the opposite lane. The accumulative speed of 160kmp+ would be the crash speed if that guy were to veer just a few feet in my direction. With this in mind, I have to trust the "other guy" with my LIFE (as do officers on the side of the road). So why would he care, so long as the ...

You motion for dismissal BEFORE you make your plea. The JP will ask how you plea to the charge as read. You state that you request dismissal of the charge based on lack of Disclosure . Make sure you bring proof that you submitted the request.

Re: Parking wrong way on road
Good Question. Is this just a cheapo parking ticket, or a $100+ ticket?
BTW. though I also occasionally park on the wrong side (on quiet back streets) I really don't think it's good practice. It's unsafe when re-entering traffic, and it could cause others to think it is a one-way street.

Re: Parking wrong way on road
Can the officer prove YOU were the one that parked there? Did he see you park there?
You wouldn't want to take the stand and lie about who was driving, but there's nothing wrong with ensuring the Crown can prove their case by proving who was driving.

I know people flash lights but does not make sense what so ever.
Most often the "traps" are in areas where there is a high number of collisions, high number of fatalities, residential and school zones.

Re: Airplane Caught Me!
The officer in the plane timed you between paint marks (I assume) and will need to be there to testify about it. The officer on the ground identified the driver and will also need to be there to testify. The charging document (ticket) must be signed by the charging officer. In this case the charging officer is acting solely on the statement of a ...

You may be the first one charged, but you're not the first one to try this. Me and a buddy hooked up an old siren to his moms Vega (when we were 16) that we found on an old boat up north somewhere. It would spool up and sound like an old cruiser from the 30's! LOL. We were pulled over within a week but (of course) weren't charged, just informed ...

The news updated this collision this morning. It was weather related. A blinding rain storm had hit the area.

I received a personal driving lesson with the countries top instructor. He really, really, really hated my style of "cutting the apex" (wide on entrance, tight to the curb in the centre, then wide on exit under acceleration) and strongly recommended I keep parallel to the curb, 3 feet away. It feels strange to me but I s'pose he's right
