I have heard of an active scam where tow truck operators will falsely report vehicles towing trailers for unsafe equipment even if there is nothing at all wrong with the trailer or vehicle . Tow truck operators then make a killing off of you for the OPP dispatched tow .
Yes , highway robbery is very much alive and well .

I requested disclosure about half a year ago as the notes were not at my meeting with the prosecutor, now I am going to trial without notes as they still do not have a brief, in two weeks and feel very unprepared, but innocent.
So if I understand this correctly... they still haven't given you the officer's notes and a copy of the collision ...

I look at it this way. I stop you and your respectful you get a warning. You become a dick on the side of the road (I get to be the judge as to who is a dick) and you get the ticket.

Kids get their jolly doing different things. Speeding has always been one of them. This goes back no less than 50 years. What has changed is car capability & zero tolerance policy . The book will be thrown at them in all likelihood with a severity not even seen for drunk drivers .

I certainly don't condone speeding
except of course if you are a self described "elite" driver.... then it's OK
I believe an elite driver is 'entitled' to elite driving privileges. As a driver , I would be much more comfortable to be in the company of highly qualified drivers doing a buck fifty-sixty on the freeway than with all the current ...

The problem with going 185 on a public road and especially in an Ontario plated vehicle is that neither are designed for it. The only reason we hear of 185 is because that's as fast as your rev-limiter will allow you to go.

Hello,
I got a speeding ticket for doing 62 on a 50 zone in Toronto. It was on Richmond St just west of Parliament St. There was a downhill ramp with the speed initially being 60 kmph and then speed changed to 50. I try to always drive within limits even on highway.
I reduced my speed as I was going downhill, but the cop caught me at 62 and ...

Why is jail time such a bad thing in this case? 85 over is extremely fast. Almost double the posted speed limit. He showed no regard for his life or the others on the highway. I bet he wasn't driving a Ferrari or some other vehicle designed for such high speed travel (not that is really makes any difference) which makes it extremely dangerous. 1 ...

There are better ways of holding very high speeders to account .
Locking them up is beyond STUPID ! Prison should be reserved for the real criminals in society .
Community service , loss of license , speed regulator , etc .

Thanks a lot for the comments.
I had no intention of pleading not guilty and fighting it. I was just unsure that if I tried an early resolution they would see that I blatantly ran a red 37 seconds after it turned as opposed to a couple seconds as most cases seem to be and then increase my fine as a result. I didn't want to waste my time if that ...

Yo generally don't need any sort of letter authorizing you. You only need her to OK it. I have represented a number of my friends when they have got speeding tickets and parking tickets.
thats what my friends have told me, they just ask for verbal confirmation of authorization, like did so and so allow you to represent them...
I would take it ...

When they told you to call them you should use something called telephone. A telephone is a device that enables one user to input a series of numbers from 0 to 9 by pressing numbered buttons. The number should be printed somewhere on back of the ticket you received. Once you find a phone and figure out how to place the call I would reference the ...
