Re: INSECURE LOAD TICKET - ANY IDEAS?
Just came back from the court house. Went armed with my defence (as we discussed here) and pictures. Saw the officer was there. Spoke to the prosecutor as does everyone before the judge comes into the courtroom. Explained my position - that the load (cabinet) was 3/4 inside the trailer and 1/4 was up over the 2 foot side, that it was secure, and ...

Re: 144(18) Red Light - Fail to stop (approaching, straight)
Did he activate his red/blue lights?
If he was behind you he must have been real late.
Did he light up everything so that there was no accident?
I don't know how you were unsafe if you both made it through.
I think you will win this one.
Cheers

Re: Court Date refused through mail?...
What's wrong with mailing it? My last ticket was 2 hours away. So I'm supposed to drive 4 hours (endangering hundreds of others on the road, LOL) just to get a court date? And this is smarter?
Perhaps I'll suggest that the crown deliver the date in person to his house, LOL.
They used to deliver them even for parking tickets in the 70's

Re: How important is the location of the offence
If the offense (failure to wear seatbelt) occurred 1km away from where the ticket says it did. Is that relevant ?
The officer observed me without my seatbelt at an intersection, I then put it on and he followed me to my house (1km away) and wrote the ticket with the offense occurring on my street.

Only it means anything is if it happened ...

Re: Parking near a fire hydrant
I live in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada).
I got slapped with a ticket of $45 for violationing a Bylaw when I parked on a street infront of my doctors office.
I parked within 3 M of a point on the curb or edge of roadway opposite a fire hydrant.
Here's the details:
I find a parking sign on the road that says NO PARKING < , which means that I can park ...

Re: court date for a speed trap?
Is it reasonable to assume that the scheduled trial date from a particular speed trap would all be on the same date?
Last weekend I got stopped (20 Kph over) at a speed trap. There was another car pulled over before I even left. I would imagine that they would try and scedule all of the court dates resulting from those tickets on the same day. Is ...

Rates will not be affected if you are hit from behind as well, which is 0% responsibility according to insurance accident rules.

Hey Viper..
Wow... really. The incident happened on Dundas near Parliament street, I think. I didn't see the flashing lights, but perhaps I've missed it because I didn't know they were there for the purpose you stated. I'll pay more attention next time. How many seconds does it flash before doors get opened?

Re: Rules to over take street car?
There is a 2-3 inch orange light (top right of back of car)
They are supposed to flash this when about to stop.
I noticed the king car using it today.
This light is not known by all (for it's purpose) but that is what it is for.
Not sure how you could see it from where you were.
Cheers
