Is the court date still March 24th.
Im hoping they throw the book at this unethical officer.
Do as you expect others to do, not what you can get away with by abusing your authority.
I hope they give her the full deal. 10 000 $ fine stuck with the charges and the whole works.
The province has already screwed over by now i assume some close to 15 ...

Re: Mounting plates
Can the officer get a reading from the front without a license plate?
Well a radar unit i assume would be able to get a reading although the metal reflective cover would be quite useful.
Although what i am referring to is a lidar unit which is always hand held. Usually lidar is facing on coming traffic to get a reading where as radar can be used ...

Re: proof of speeding 50km/h over posted
Lots of people would go more than 150.
They are all the ones that now just go 145 in the left lane.
They arent hard to find your not alone. The officer wont likely do it.
Next time your on the highway and the flow of traffic in the passign lane is around 140 youll know.

Re: Mounting plates
Just don't put a license plate on the front of the car.
Thats where they aim the cross hairs on the lidar unit to get your speed.
The license plate reflects those small pulses of light really well. I wonder if it still works or can get a speed with no plate on the front.....

Section 172 of Highway Traffic Act (Sunts) - Examination
Today after looking at the section 172 i noticed a few things. For one street racing is under Stunts as other said. Which means the media is terrible and Fantino sold us this under lies.
Also i couldnt help but notice that stunt driving is not about speeds. Since 50 over is SO SERIOUS and they will tow your ass. I couldnt help but notice this in ...

Re: Criminal Code Section 39 re impounding of Car
If 172 gets removed does this mean 50 over the speed limit would essentially be removed and the fines or punishment for 49 over would apply to this?
Would this also mean 4 demerit points for the 30 to 49 over would now apply for 50 over?

Re: Criminal Code Section 39 re impounding of Car
We already had laws to deal with this stuff just fine!
In fact this law lets the real street racers off the ones who should be charged with careless driving, this stunt racing law lets them off easier!
I agree street racing and stunt driving deserves punishment.
Going 150 in the middle of night in the left lane does not deserve impoundment ...

Re: Criminal Code Section 39 re impounding of Car
If this gets throw away what happens to the over 10,000 individuals who have been ripped off and were denied they're rights as Canadian citizens to a fair trial.
What about the ones who were guilty on the side of the road.
What about all those 10,000 people who had their license suspended and cars stolen for 7 days. What about the towing and ...

Re: Driver clocked at 250 km/h
The autobahn system is great.
A bit of fear is a good thing. When you have some guy in a bmw going 250 in the left lane and you want to pass a truck going 120 you are gonna wait for him to pass, in Ontario they cut him off the road.
The autobahn is good this is how driving should work on the road.
1) Mind your own business

Re: Driver clocked at 250 km/h
My dad's freind in germany came to ontario once for a business trip.
He was coming along up through buffalo.
He called us and asked if that sign was real that said 150 km/hr is street racing and theyll take your car.
He thought it was a joke haha. I guess when we told him that it was infact a law they thought it was quite funny.

haha its a law???
I guess what ever seems proper.
I can understand someone taking off shoes. If it was a woman with high heels or even me in the winter i hate driving with big boots on.
Hey guys i heard the OPP might get detectors to make sure you have shoes on! Fantino says it will only cost about 50 million dollars to by them. They are gonna ...

Ya no kidding i dont get where People like Fantino seem to think they are over the laws and rights of this own country.
However abuses power like that sure as hell does not belong to be the OPP cheif.
172 has always been unjust and unlawful. Maybee everyone isnt going 50 over. I remember they put those signs back for the oil crisis.
