Take it to court.
I don't know where your from or if your familiar with that area.
15 over in this area you will get caught. Anything west of London and Around Chatam 15 over they will still take you.
Around the GTA you need to push 130 to get a ticket. Here if you keep it around 120-129 you should be fine.
Besides here its hard if your in the ...

Re: 142km on 401 going west, near 401 exit to Homer Watson Blvd
If he was right behind you while driving he probably was using K or Ka band Stalker or Genesis II.
IF he was right behind you with radar im sorry but he got you....
It would be different at the side of the road though...
Anyways the public pays police to serve the public. I would call his detachment you can look them up at the OPP's website ...

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers
Comparing a murder investigation to having a SMWD 2 different things.
Would you charge someone with robbing a store and they have enone of the evidence. How can you prove based on that.
Your telling me that you can just suspect someone to have a radar detector is good enough for a fine without finding it i dont think so?
So if you pull me over ...

Anyways thats to bad the officer wouldn't help.
His local detachment is right off Exit 282 on the 401.
It is just north of the 401 on exit 282.
Maybee drop by and see if they will answer some of your questions.

Re: 142km on 401 going west, near 401 exit to Homer Watson Blvd
Very interesting was the officer already speeding before you got in that lane?
Send me a PM i spend drive alot through there.
Next time you pass put your blinkers on.
Although you are right the flow of traffic on that area of the 401 is very fast. The officers there seem to drive very fast to.

Oh FireStart that really sucks.

I have seen people go through radar there over 140 and the guy not even move. Thats the autobahn of ontario.
What part was it at the OPP act alot different outside the GTA though with traffic maybee up near sudbury i understand.
Squishy what company are you insured with ...

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers
Reflections i totally agree.
Your telling me an officer would give you a 100-1000 $ fine and 3 demerit points on suspicion and no evidence LOL!
How can you do that. What if your spectre doesnt detect it.
Does that make driving a nice vehicle and not speeding automatically suspicion of having a SMWD???
What is that. So if you pull over a guy in ...

Re: Unmarked vs. Marked cruisers
Very true reflections.
The officers just do their job if they are told to write more tickets they pressured to do it.
The way i see some of these HSD officers drive around the GTA you would seem to think that they don't care about speeding either until they issue a big ticket.

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers
Thanks for clarification bear.
So for example you pull someone over for stunt driving "50 over" and this guy was also weaving in and out of lanes like crazy so you might give him careless driving.
So he would get both fines his insurer would see both fines but he would lose 6 points because stunt has 5 but since careless has 6 they take the ...

Re: Insurance Issues...
Ya i see the flow of traffic get to that speed all the time between 130-140 depending on hwy and other conditions.
Most people wont cruise at over 150 just cause the added stress on the engine, way more fuel, and the tow truck.
Even in a 4 cylinder car the same i have never driven an 8 and rarely a 6.
But with a 4 cylinder your engine will rev ...

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers
Thanks bear if a driver had a laser jammer and a radar detector would you take both and write one ticket or write one for each?
And that would be a total of 6 points and 2 x 175 $ for first time?

Re: Insurance - Radar Detectors & Laser Jammers
Im curious to hear what others say.
Maybe hwybear might have some input. Does insurance rates go up according to the amount of points the conviction was.
So would getting a speeding ticket at 16 or 29 over would raise my rates the same?
Does the company look at the charge and say X points for the fine = X much increase in insurance?
So back to ...

Re: Insurance Issues...
Squishy i am going to have to agree with you on that.
As far as gas prices go even if the highways didn't have a limit like the autobahn system there is no way i would max it out all the time.
The gas begins to cost way to much at speeds like that. Even if we had no speed limits many would not "max out" due to gas prices and costs.
