Re: Help, please! Is speeding ticket worth fighting?
browsing has made a few good good points, the only thing I would suggest is that you read over www.ticketcombat.com to get a better idea of how to ask for disclosure (and tons more of info). If disclosure is incomplete, you can ask for a second request.

There is the fine that you have to pay, plus any interest accrued, and then there is a license reinstatement fee of $150.

You can ask the JP directly during court to reschedule (called continuance). As a safe bet, i'd call the court and ask if they received any communications from your lawyer.

Given the nature of relationship with a paralegal company, you would have to file this in a small claims court.
You can view most of the OHTA here on-site. However, the entire act is available here: http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/statut ... 0h08_e.htm. I think that you are interested in PART IX: RATE OF SPEED

Generally, if there is a white solid line on the right-hand side of the road, that means that you cannot park there. Example: park on a bicycle lane, you get towed as soon as a p/off cyclist calls the vehicle. Same with the 401. Shoulders are for emergencies, always.

So, you have one ticket within 3 years already. Adding this one will be pretty bad.
I would file ticket with trial option, and start trying to get the case together. At the very least it will buy you some time. You can always check with what a paralegal can/can't do in the meantime, and what you yourself can/can't do. A reduced charge is still much ...

Unfortunately, for the impound fees, no. Hence the outcry about this whole law, besides the fact that it is unconstitutional.
Suspension has "never happened" as a result of lower charge. When you are filling out an insurance app, you can state that your license has never been suspended.

Perhaps calling the court might help clear out the issue. If the license was suspended due to an additional fee that was not billed at the same charge, then the set fine is incorrect. There are precedents where the wrong fines have resulted in tickets being quashed.
