Re: Thornhill - Bathurst and Clark - Disobeying sign 182(2)
You have an excellent chance of having the charge stayed if you make a proper 11B argument - dismiss the charge based on delay, instead of proving that point in court.

Re: How to introduce a map in court
Satellite images are usually 5 years old or so, if not more. You should use an actual, recent, printed map in this case. What are you trying to show with it?

I would say that your insurer is messing with you. Get some quotes from other people, and quote them instead.

As for doing the "court thing", there are a lot of general things you need to do. Read any of the cases here and follow the recommendations.

Re: How to introduce a map in court
Are you talking about the map, or the streetview? You chould use an actual map, or an actual photo.
Google products as these are for "entertainment only", and should not be used as a reference. Think about it - they have mapped a million of streets, all for free, what are the chances that there as not one mistake?

Re: Minimum lead time for disclosure
Unless the prosecutor moves quick, that may be the case. You can make an argument that it does not take much time to photocopy the stuff needed. If your friend only has 4 weeks left, I would still ask for it and see what happens.

As for your next sticker, use some rubbing alcohol/Windex to clean the old sticker from grit and grease to make the new one stick.

Drivers MUST yield to transit buses. It is the law now. Looks like charge was mis-laid there.

Where to find set fines
Current set fines can be found on the following government page:
http://www.ontariocourts.ca/ocj/how-do-i/set-fines/set-fines-i/schedule-43/
This should be used as a reference whether your set fine amount is incorrect. Note that the fines are subject to change. Set fines do not include the surcharge. For the reference, Victim Surcharge is as ...

Re: Got a 110$ ticket because I had my sticker on the bottom...
The only way to argue with a cop is at the courthouse.
You cannot be found not guilty if you do not plead not guilty.
http://www.ontario.ca/en/services_for_residents/stel02_155923 shows the proper position of the validation sticker.
Someone might know better if there exists a regulation about that. Just because something is not in the OHTA does ...

Re: Minimum lead time for disclosure
There is no set minimum time, as a lot of people don't even know that they can request disclosure, find this site, read over, "Oh *EDIT*" response kicks in, and they scramble to request disclosure a week before the date, and then adjourn.
Realistically, it should not take the prosecution more than 8 weeks, so I would say 2 months before trial ...

Re: subject: Highway speeding
I appologize for the seemingly random question, but would I be allowed to post the hand written noted of the police office I received as part of the disclosure.
I ask, because some short hand is hard to read and understand and I am hoping for your assistance in understanding them.
thank you
hwybear made a good point that you can post the info ...

Re: HTA - Red light failure to stop
A LOT of people never request disclosure. Those who come to this forum all do for some reason though
Really, if you plan on using the incorrect fine line of defence then there is no need to get the disclosure. You can still request it though, either now or when you receive the court date. You can ask for disclosure now, but most people wait ...
