does not sound like it applies....seems like he had owned the vehicle for some time and was not driving it, then decided to drive...therefore it is not a "new vehicle" to him

+1

Unless the left lane person saw the cruiser (lights on or not) and being responsible moved over to the left lane and slowed down to avoid the vehicle on the shoulder.

You try to do the right thing and you STILL get hosed.

If the vehicle can not move to the left, (not safe to do so), the option is to slow down, "not" accelerate as ...

Salesmen charged for selling $41,000 car for $66,000

TORONTO STAR 6MAY10

The Mazda dealership in Orangeville may have given new meaning to the automakers slogan of "zoom, zoom, zoom" for motorist Madeline Leonard.

Leonard walked into the dealership wanting to replace the tires on her 2004 car.

By the time she left she was on the hook for a spiffy, black 2010 ...

Re: Blog of a Former Police Officer

Ok I've gotta concede that one.

But if people become angle drivers when they see marked cop cars should I not push to have more plainly visible cops on highways?

now here is own thoughts after being in traffic for over a decade.

Marked car = angels

If more cruisers/officers on roads = more cost to taxpayers to get the deterrent level needed ...

Re: Disobey sign and Obscure interior of vehicle.

When you are standing outside the driver door you can clearly see my purse on the passenger seat. I have been reading other tint threads and am going to see if you can see the seatbelt.

you will have to be at the same angle as the officer, if he/she was in a cruiser. Have someone sit in your car with the belt on. Then you sit in another vehicle ...

Re: Blog of a Former Police Officer

Isn't the real issue not that people are speeding, but are giving themselves no time to react at such a speed by tailgating. Why don't cops regularly enforce tailgating laws rather than speeding so that more people will learn to space themselves more safely on highways? .

Push your local MPP to let us have proper unmarked cars for this....as ...

The speed sign is legislated ...the sign offence is pled to quite often in court, rather than a speed....saves the driver demerit points

,However this person wasn't texting, but instead, was checking their blood glucose levels on their phone because they were feeling a little off while driving.

So, in the long run this person is charged for doing something that may have ended up preventing a pile up on the highway..

yeah...nothing like signalling and pulling onto the shoulder ...
