All vehicles are capable of coming to a complete stop within 8 feet approximately traveling 25 km/hr (15 miles/hr). I always approach the intersection reducing speed and approximately 8 feet from the intersection traveling 25 km/hr (15 miles/hr).

Re: Summons to Witness
If you lie in court in Canada "there are no repercussions to you".
ie: you show up ,take the stand and remember nothing (for every question). What help is that
to the Crown?
However you should show up.

Re: Duration of offence on record
Once a conviction is registered (paid ticket, plead guilty with explanation OR trial and found guilty$) the ticket is logged via the "offence date". All offences stay on your driving record for LIFE. If points are associated to the offence, 2 years after the offence you will lose those points. As far as how far back insurance companies look on a ...

Speeding (under 50 km/hr over the limit) is an absolute liability offence and therefore you will not be allowed to enter a defence at a trial .
Hi Simon,
I'm afraid I didn't understand. If I choose option 3 (plead not guilty), that means I will have the chance to enter a defense at the trial, right?

IMHO the notes referring to laser mean absolutely nothing.....as does the test time and the word of "overweight" (regarding over weight vehicles). I think that top part (of officers notes) is what that particular officer puts on the top of every notes he/she makes. Even more so if it is a typed version of notes.

Back side is like this:
Radar type: LASER ATLANTA
Radar Serial Number: XXXXX

Line: 1
Weather: SUNNY WARM CLEAR
Road: DRY
Overweight:
Obvious by this that above is a standard format this officer uses on every offence notice.

There is some provisions for a 24hr suspension. That is for a novice driver who blows between 0-49mgs or a Young Driver who blows 10-49mgs range.

I can only tell you what I've seen in 7 POA courts. If a deal/resolution is made with the prosecutor, it is made in good faith. All pleas are usually done before trials start. If the officer did not have any other matters or trials sometimes the prosecutor allows the officer to go back on the road. When called up to speak and the person all of a ...

The OP would have blown an even lower score after the extra time to station is added.

Simply if the OP had 2 beers, the reading would not have been an "A" (therefore no 3 day licence suspension), but rather it would show a reading between 0-49mgs. Which wouldn ...

"Running a red light" is only if you ENTER the intersection on a red. Canada's Worst Driver, for example, repeatedly gets this wrong. In their "final challenge," if one of their drivers is in the intersection when the light turns red, they say this is running a red light. That is incorrect.
