Well, the police usually hide when doing radar, they wouldn't catch many people of they sat in plain sight.
funny you say that...I sit on the hwy plain view on a straight area, nothing around, and still drivers don't look more than 100m up the road to see the cruiser, plenty of people just want my attention I guess  Sometimes I even try to ...

Re: General question about Police radar conduct
If he was facing traffic he would have to "make out" the plate of the car as it passes by (or model and color?) in the dead of night,
Maybe 50% of time I read the plate during day, next till nil at night.
A lot of people misunderstand lost sight of vehicle. Rarely have I ever lost sight of the vehicle. Losing sight is when it the vehicle ...

your welcome, and the way I worded the response is for either right or left lane ending as I have seen right lanes ending on hwys and left lanes ending is some cities I have travelledmatt123 wrote:Thanks hwybear few people seem to grasp the concept around here and had me second guessing.

which ever vehicle is in the lane that "doesn't end" has the right of way.....or another put another way...which ever driver has to cross the line into the other lane must yield to the other driver

Viper, I think there can't be as much time as needed. How about reasonable 5-10 min max in my eyes is more than sufficient.
agree with ya Paul1913 in being reasonable.....
I have a method I use, where I tell the driver to activate the 4 ways if the proper insurance card is found. If 4 ways come on prior to my signature hitting the paper I will ...

Re: Fail to Surrender 3(1) ticket. Need clarification.
insurance card offence goes to the driver, even if owner is the passenger seat...as it is the driver who must surrender proof of valid insurance upon request of a police officer.
if a charge of "no insurance" would go to the owner, which is a summons, not a ticket

Re: Ever wonder why Police don't ticket Left-Lane Hogers?
there are many problems on the roads with how people drive and many things would aid in the traffic. Here are a few things, not just limited to the topic at hand
- keep right except actively passing a vehicle (be within 60m) in order to move to a lane to the left (in zones over 70km/hr)
(60m is referenced in the HTA for several other sections ...

Re: G2 BAC above zero
I mean notice of suspension.. Is that like enough evidence that the cop did not know what he was doing??
Only those that blow in the "warn" range get a 3 day suspension.
Novice driver's who blow any BAC "above zero" but below the "warn" range still get suspended, but not for 3 days.

Re: G2 BAC above zero
the ticket would not indicate a "warn".
The ticket would say a G2 licence holder, BAC above zero.
Now the suspension would vary pending on the result of the ASD (approved screening device) result

Re: G2 BAC above zero
G2 with zero BAC has been in effect since the novice driver licences started, which was late 90's.
In August 2010 is when the zero BAC changed for drivers 21 and under regardless of class of licence
