. I have wondered though if Peel police can pull you over on a 4-series, if the infraction was on the 4-series highway????
Absolutely. Still police officers
I do believe you would have to explain why you were out of your regular area to the JP.........
Negative. JP does not care.
Might have explaining to your own boss if you wrote 90% of ...

Re: Zero Tolerance for 1st 5 years of driving...
This is too complicated. No need to re-invent the wheel.
Just make it simple...We already have the following conditions:
G1 = zero alcohol
G2 - zero alcohol
Just add that a "G" driver must be a minimum of 19yrs of age.
G1/G2 already have lower demerit point levels, which multiple tickets will take care of a suspension for demerit points.

Re: Zero Tolerance for 1st 5 years of driving...
Germany has a four year driver education course as part of their regular school cirriculum, or at least it used to. That is why more than half of the Autobahn can have no posted speed limit but it has the lowest collision rate of any major road network in the world. It takes a long time to get a driver's licence there, but it's part of your ...

Re: Driving through Detroit could get expensive
Last time I was in Michigan, I couldn't help but notice their speed limits were higher and their roads were crappier than ours. So the truth is coming out; keep our speed limits ridiculously low and ticket revenues will keep pace with government spending. Hmmm
Our roads are better b/c of slower speeds!!
I will never agree that our speed limit ...

New civic's are very nice for you......
Your style is very thorough. Next time you have the oppertunity on a smoggy day, light someone up from 1 km and keep the gun on them. If the speed decreases the closer they get closer then there is some effect.
I know you'll say they let they're foot off the gas but this would help prove the theory.

About 3/4 way down is the officers signature and DATE to the right is the supervisor signature and DATE. How does this compare to the date of the collision at the top?
The Officer's signature and date is 6 months after the "accident date"
The supervisor's signature & date are missing (not filled in).
Don't understand what is happening then ...

Alexo....did not take that offensive or upsetting. I see your view. There are reasons behind what you mention and not what you might think.

Bear will know for certain, but I think if he's in pursuit he can continue the pursuit into another jurisdiction. Cops are cops throughout the Province. Even when off-duty they are still on-duty, really.
Exactly Lawmen.
A pursuit into a another jurisdiction is no problem, only is radio issue where the area that it enters is now in control of ...

Re: Stopping two cars
And at the end of the day, I would rather use lidar.
At 100m
Lidar = 30cm beam width
Radar = 20 metres
There is absolutely never any doubt with lidar which vehicle is travelling what speed.
although......my best is at night, obtain a speed via radar/lidar, catch the vehicle and then pace it....then pull up beside and READ the drivers ...

Re: Stopping two cars
One thing though. I know that light travels at a constant speed in a vacuum. The atmosphere is not a vacuum. Dirt, smog.....all those airbourne particles can effect light. How would this be compensated for....? I know you're coming back to this 'bear so..... The further away a target is from the gun the more the "light" is going to slow down ...

Re: Stopping two cars
Lidar used by officers is invisible to the naked eye. You can however use nightvision to see them. I wonder why officers are not using nightvision to align the scopes???
I have used night vision to see the beam, very neat.
However, we are not trained/ qualified to align a scope. That must be done by the repair facility. What we do is ensure the ...
