89% of the time is served personally by officer "X" For a licence suspension for non-payment of a fine??? I've never heard of an officer looking you up to serve you personally. Normally it's a letter in the mail from MTO!

There are some thoughtful, sensitive cops out there after all.

Re: Careless driving. Judge said no suspension. But it happened
Go back to the court that you were in to the counter/service area. Ask them to see the document outlining your penalty. (sorry don't know what the document would be called). Then go from there, such as take a copy to the MTO..

Re: Texting on Cellphone while driving
think too many JP's did not like the $325 and 6 points for careless and would not convict. So government put in this new piece of legislation, but that is only a guess.Squishy wrote: I'm thinking it already qualifies as careless driving, or does it not meet the requirements for a conviction?

I rarely hear that type (served registered mail) of service, 89% of the time is served personally by officer "X" or 9% served by court.

sorry, think you misunderstood....it was just not one test....we had multiple tests over 3 hrs after we stopped consuming.FiReSTaRT wrote:Bear, the way the test was run suggests that not enough alcohol got metabolized to get into your lungs to blow a more realistic reading, which would make the test highly unrealistic..

Re: Unethical Speeding Ticket
the limits for warn are probably in place to encompass the majority of the population. It would be impossible to have a limit for each person.
When I was a drinking test subject on my course, I drank as much as I could in the time limit. We then had to go down a hall, elevator another hall and into the classroom. I was quite enebriated. I remember ...

Re: Unethical Speeding Ticket
I have been through the extensive training in alcohol, trained as an Intoxilyzer technician. The whole course revolves around alcohol, the affects on the body. The course is NOT MADD generated or such groups. The course is administered/taught directly by CFS (Centre of Forensic Science) Scientists. It is probably the hardest course I have ever been ...

there has always been consequences (ie licence suspension and tow) in the WARN area.FiReSTaRT wrote:Yeah, but now you suffer consequences without a trial for blowing in the WARN range, hence the word effectiveThe BAC limit has not changed in 12 yrs that I have been around
I personally would like to see a $325 ticket and 6 points for this too.

Re: Plea for lesser charge from Driving While Under Suspension
1st it is not a criminal charge.
Driving under suspension is one of the easiest charges for police to prove: simply on this date and time the driver was suspended. It does not matter if it was a unpaid fine of $20 or $25,000.
Driving with no licence = $260 + surcharge $325.00 (no points)

Bear, our speed limits, laws and enforcement policies seem to be more effective at generating revenue than promoting safer roads.
