Re: Prosecution refused disclosure for speeding charge.

2 & 3 are one and the same, officer has to be a trained radar operator. The operator has to have received training from a radar instructor, and to have been requalified as an operator within the past 2 years.

Re: ministry of transportation

does not sound like things just "stopped working" according to your 1st post....mto called and told you safety was invalid, that alone is a red flag of the 1st garage!! then you go to another garage and the car wasnt even close to passing... 2nd red flag about the 1st garage
- that's why i would always go to a proper garage for a safety (midas, cdn ...

Re: Cops and Traffic Stops

Okay. So what is the polite way to say "I do not consent to give you permission to search me or my vehicle."?
The answer is. Do you have a search warrant?
If not. say no you cannot.
Cheers

The ways to search are:
1) an Act with search authorities (LLA, HTA, FWCA etc...
2) search warrant
3) consent to search (which is more than verbal ...

Re: Could I fight a speeding ticket as a strict liability?

with the trace of emails, present them to the prosecutor ahead of time

I have a "Plan B" defence prepared based on the police cruiser being to far back from the road to accurately do radar for eastbound traffic, vector angle being too great, houses and vegitation blocking the view of the road. I took pictures of where the car was parked, pictures ...

Re: Cops and Traffic Stops

So to the guy who said "if you have nothing to hide then who cares" how would you have liked to have been in my situation? It was embarrassing and demeaning as hell. Cops are not God, this is not Soviet Russia and people have rights.

and obviously we only heard your side of this...however, if this is completely true, you should have made a ...

Re: Fail to properly wear seat belt - In Provincial Park

all roads inside the provincial park are subject to all HTA rules. only place that is not is once directly on your assigned campsite.
on similiar note, did a RIDE inside a park this weekend, and issued bicycle helmet offence, 6 other helmet warnings, 20+ seatbelt warnings, 1 3day licence suspension

Re: ministry of transportation

you should call the MTO enforcement section (officers that work at truck inspection areas), they have specialized "auditors" that deal with garages that do not conduct safety inspections properly. report the 1st garage

Re: Not-for-hire, privately owned tandem axle truck - HELP

If no historic exemption, would fall under all the rules if the Registered Gross Weight (RGW) is over 4,500kgs the vehicle falls into the same category as all transports
- annual safety
- CVOR
- log book (outside 160km)
- daily inspection report

If it is in fact a RGW of 11300 kg, need a class D licence to drive it.

Personal exemptions are only ...

Re: Volunteer fire fighter responding to emergeny question

I agree with Stanton.

Not only a delay to their response, the EMS has the full "tools of the trade" on board for the medical situation.

Flashing green lights have really no meaning so to speak, no one has to move over (most out of courtesy do), nor can the driver exceed the speed limit and can not go through a red light etc.. however EMS can do ...

1) is there any significance to aiming the crosshairs at a vehicle's front/rear license plate vs. body? for example: range.
aim for a reflective surface of the vehicle, as the beam has to be reflected back to the unit

2) maximum distance you've gotten a reading from a vehicle with a front license plate vs. vehicle without?
3) maximum distance ...
