new car, first day, got pulled

Hey, on my drive home late night in my new toy,

I apparently blew through a red light. (apparently turning right onto a main road from the campus)

So I had this cars lights on my tail and resisted the urge to floor it. When the guy lit me up.
Damn, at first I thought he was going to stop me for speeding, as I was probably doing 10'ish over the ...

personally, I would make sure you can get the best representation money can buy,
you don't want stunt driving on your record messing you up for the next 5 years,

Re: can I be held responsible - not driving

ok great...

so if someone say comes around to buy the car without test driving it (say for parts), if they pay me and I sign the car over to them, is the onus now on them to get the car insured?

can I be held responsible - not driving

Hey guy's

So I'm getting a new car on Tuesday and the old battered one is either going to the junk yard or for sale.

Now, I'm keeping it in the garage, but it won't have any insurance (swapped to new car) will have plates and sticker.
Now, if somone comes to see it and wants to test drive it, and I tell them there is no insurance on the car.
But ...

Re: Fighting Ticket: Early Resolution Meeting

sorry havent seen if anyone mentioned this,
but demerit or no demerit points has no effect on insurance
only convictions count, so if you get a conviction, major or minor, its on your record and "could" effect you renewal

What would be a better approach to do? The police officer who issued the ticket did tell me that the prosecutor could give me ...

new car - buying - fees and stuff , assist,

Guy's

I just wanna double check if anyone can confirm

When buying a used car from a car dealer, what "fees" do I pay.
from google I've found the below

D.O.T $399.00
Administration Fee $199.00
Gasoline $30.00
OMVIC Fee $5.00
License Fee $120.00

does this all get paid to the dealer?

what is the DOT fee for?

I know I have to also pay tax, does ...

bicycles - advise OT

I hope it's ok to post this here,

IF its not, I apologise in advance and please remove the thread.

I'm looking for a bike as I need to get into some exercise, I REALLY don't wanna pay too much
so does anyone have any sources for a bike, new or used.

I am worried about buying anything on kijiji, in case it's stolen?
IF so, is there a way I can ...

Re: accident in car - some assitance pls

hey guy's,

ok it looks all good so far,

So I let my insurance company know she offered to pay for my damages, I wanted that on record (I've got the VM)
The insurance adjustor rang me and confirmed that I was not at fault. so they will be going after the other driver for my damages.
They'll get my car in for repair, a rental with insurance for it ...

Re: accident in car - some assitance pls

ok,
so I had a voicemail from the other driver, asking me if we could settle and for me to get her a quote from my mechanic
so she has basically admitted responsibility.

so here are my thoughts and appreciate your input.

1> I needed to cover myself in so far as reporting this (again wife had a bad experience)

2> I can get a quote from a guy I ...

Re: accident in car - some assitance pls

ok txs

just so as a Limey Newbie, just confirm centre line.

so on the highway (in one direction) there are 3 lanes (example)

inside, middle, outside (lane 1, 2 , 3)
the lanes are defined by white lines, to keep you IN the lanes.
so if I was in lane 3 (of a 5 lane highway) that is to say the lane closest to the slow moving lane.

I was driving in ...
