Re: No Insurance
cool txs
if driver had hit another car and or seriously injured that person, what would have been the repercussions.
i.e. he was NOT insured at the time to drive; with essentially the plates from another car
The repercussions are that you get sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars and everything comes out of your own pocket.

LEO's vs job bloggs
So to try and get a handle on the real deal is (as far as Canadian LEO's etc)
So,
i) (real) Police Officers; I mean in the sense of how joe public see/id's a PC
ii) Campus Police
iii) Specials (maybe a UK term, but I believe same here, part-time police etc)
iv) Transport police
So, comparing ii & iii & iv , what powers do they lack (if any ...

car park "dings"
so we where all chatting about this;
so a hypothetical question came up
scenario:
A driver returning to his car with a trolley, begins to unload it, said trolley rolls off and hits a car, there is say a "ding" or some scuffed paint, but nothing that can be buffed out and say a couple of hundred bucks to put right.
We'll also assume said driver ...

Re: GOING WITH FLOW OF TRAFFIC
nope;
if a bunch of lemmings jump of a cliff will you...
Actually; there was a good Martketplace article on CBC; saying that speed limits are unrealistically slow; and was actaully more unsafe;
some provinces have increased hiway from 100-120
and actually 50 clicks is SLOW; I'm used to 50MPH on what we would call a dual carriageway

There's a stretch of motorway in the UK with this,
it bloody well works a treat, no bunching up. no traffic, after you've gone through this a few miles,
drivers start acting like dickheads

You need to take into account many variables, road condition, your tires, your vehicle stopping ...

I would say no,
so the question is, if driving the 5 metres down a one way street what happens if you meet traffic coming the other way?
OR if you hit said vehicle

Re: Improper Mudguards?
something really does stink on this one,
your just driving along, good weather, not speeding and you get pulled over for mudflaps.... serious?
cmon, getting pulled for mudguards, thats just wrong, considering the crime that's happening in the t.
your saying no rain, so whats the issue? how can LEO say that no or wrong mudgaurds are going to or ...

this one has an outcome too
looks like the "change" from 100 to 80, is VERY COMMON

Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone
stunt driving was IIRC brought in because of the amount of road racers on on industrial parks, "giving it some"
so agreed the "spirit" of the charge should be what is sounds, not simply "driving too fast" stunting, i.e. wheel spinning, racing, showing off etc,
what I can say, from reading various post'ts over time on here, that stunting, is more ...

Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone
I've seen various post's where ppl have said they where chased down (the ones I think I remember) was a plain clothes car, they tried and failed to use the "I was in fear of my life" defense,
some women driving at night, dark car came up behind her, and she booted it, lost, got ticketd for stunt.
I think "in theory" your right, in practice, I don ...

Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone
As for the drive with no insurance, its reverse onus therefore you must prove that your vehicle was insured at the time of the stop. Ask your insurance company for a document proving it was insured on that date. With my service we charge for no insurance sometimes when the driver cannot provide an insurance card and we are unable to contact the ...

Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone
some other people will be around I'm sure, but my comments
1> even if it was a 100, you where doing 35 over (what you thought) the speed limit was
2> If the speed limit is 80, it's 80, usually ignorance is no defense in law, so you where doing 55 over, which somewhere else I saw the LEO's have to charge with stunt
