question on drivers license renewal

Hey guys' please fact check me :) I forgot to renew both my DL and HC on my Bday, on the 4th I did it online on the 5th, awaiting now. However, I am trying to book an online proctored exam, and (long story short) I wanna use my DL (govt photo ID, DOB etc) When I book the exam, I have to state what method of ID I will use, then SCAN IT and send it to them when requested AND on the day of the exam, I scan and sent it to the proctor OR they ask me to show it on the webcam. Problem is my photo ID is out of date DUH, so need to wait 4-6 weeks for my DL to come in the post. BUT I thought, as its a k...

Re: Got into an accident, some assistance pls

Hey Bend, Sorry I'm not always here. YES sir, I was same junction, pretty same scenarion, Insurance after investigating, put me not at fault (for the above reasons), so while I didn't pay for excess, my carfax will ding me :( Funny, well not funny, the VERY next week, there was a major crash, same time, same place all emergency responders on scene, and the i/sec was blocked off, that is apparently a very dark and bad i/sec, lots of accidents there, especially at night. TBH I don't even think other driver had her lights on, I had come to a complete stop, and maybe she was in a blindspot or dunn...

Quick question on speed camera boxes

I guess you've all seen these ! So some questions 1> Do they flash ? when they take the picture or are the infra-red 2> IF they don't flash does that mean there not working ? 3> Do they have a "speed tolerance" so how much over the posted speed 4> Do tickets come pretty quickly in the post 5> Can they cover "both" sides of the road and in essence flash you in the face ? There's a 30 near my house, depending on my route I usually miss it, but have been absentminded and gone past around 40, but never been flashed. In the UK, they cant do front flash, though I think they were ...

Government has increased the speed limit on highways - Hooray - Booo !

"The speed limit on Hwy. 416 south of Ottawa and on sections of Hwy. 401 in eastern Ontario increases 10 km/h hour today. The Ontario government is increasing the speed limit from 100 km/h to 110 km/h on 10 sections of highways across Ontario. Starting today, the speed limit on approximately 70 kilometres of Hwy. 416, between Hwy. 401 and Ottawa, is permanently 110 km/h. The speed limit also increases to 110 km/h on three sections of Hwy. 401 in eastern Ontario, including on 107 km of the highway from Hwy. 16 to the Quebec boundary, on 66 km between Belleville and Kingston and on 44 km b...

automated speed enforcement ticket received

OK,

We received in the post a speeding ticket from I presume a camera.
All on the ticket looks right.

Is this the same thing as the stoplight camera tickets in so far,
you just pay and move on with your life, no penalty points and no notifying your insurance,

Letter sent to registered owner, but other than a police stop, whose to say who was driving.

I can scan and post if anyone likes

Date of incident was in April, deemed served on 1 may, set fine $70 with surcharges $90

doing 44 in a 30 zone

on a form 6.2 city of mississauga

Many thanks

Re: Heart pacemaker devices. - insurance question

just a positive update....

My heart condition get better, much much better, most people have a 55% EF (normal) I had 10-15 in hospital, going up to 26, which meant I needed a device, I kinda dragged it, got on better drugs and exercise.

Went up to 36% and doc said I was out of danger zone no-need for device

I'm now at 45%, still have heart damage, but as good as it gets !

Many thanks hope this helps somone else

Question on being questioned by the Police at home

I did post this ages ago, and didnt really get a solid answer, It came up again at a party where somone had the self same experience as me, cops at the door asking about somone else who was not at home. Then that person home owner was asked there name and DOB. I have watched some video since, and if your driving, engaging in any restricted activity or suspected of committing some offence you have to ID But standing in the door in slippers at 4pm in the afternoon with kids running around the house, your obviously not a burgler, are you also not allowed to rat your wife/husband out to the police...

question on changing lanes....

Hi,
Quickie, if I am driving on a 3 lane (or 2 lane) road, can I change lanes in the middle of an intersection, if there is no other traffic, i.e. I can do it safely ?

I was told not (I was having a conversation with a friend)? because it's dangerous ?

Thanks
