Re: G2 driver, BAC .03%, 2 tickets. Does it affect insurance?

The police may be freindly, as should you, but the police are not your freind. You have incriminated yourself by admitting to have weed. Whatever you did earlier in the evening that may not be legal, It is up to the officer to figure that out. Never admit anything, make him figure it out on his own. If they want to search tell them to get a warrent ...

Re: Swerved to avoid animal then charged with Careless driving

In most cases swerving to avoid an animal is not the best idea.

If you stay in your lane and hit the animal you can put damages through insurance as a comprehensive claim and no wories about deductable and is also not an at fault accident.

If you swerve you better hope you can miss it and not lose control of your car. If you do swerve and hit a ...

Re: Enough is enough

There was a guy on here before who was getting pulled over alot in his neibourhood. He called the police station and spoke with a captain or something and has no more issues with it. Maybe if you call the police station and ask to speak to a staff sargent or captain and explain your situation it may help. I think in the other guys situation the ...

Re: Exceeding Speed Limit to Pass - isn't it allowed?

Yes, and isn't it technically illegal to honk your horn or flash your high beems at a left lane hog?

Re: who is right in this situation?

Just to clarify... was there traffic comming in the right lane, left lane, or both? If there was traffic only on the left lane but the right lane was clear I would be honking too. Otherwise any traffic aproaching in the right lane will clober you, and you would be at fault.

Your post got me thinking....Does anyone know of any Police departments in Ontario that have in-car dash cams? And if so can you make specific request for that in disclosure?

Re: Wipers and lights need to be on when raining?

Not that I know about, but this has been a pet peeve of mine. HTA says they have to be on 1/2 hour before sunset and 1/2 hour after sunrise.

So Its one thing when its a light drizzle, but if it is raining... even mid day... it can be a bad combo of being dark and rain + spray from cars to severly reduce visibility. People should have their lights ...

Re: Forced to speed up 111 on 90.

Someone Brake checks it is fairly obvious.

Ok sometimes it is. Witnesses may have seen hand gestures, honking horn other dangerous maniuvers ect. But in a situation where no back and forth gestures can be proven I think not.

Here is a situation that happened to someone I know a few years back. He was in a hurry, and was behind a slow car on a 2 ...

Re: Forced to speed up 111 on 90.

Should have break checked him.

That's also stunt driving per O. Reg 455/07:

True but its not what you know its what you can prove. It would be hard to prove intent. lets think about this....It would be the word of one against the other. We know all drivers must be in control of thir car at all times including leaving enough distance in front ...

Re: Forced to speed up 111 on 90.

Should have break checked him. That would have been awesome if a cop rear ended you. He would have fun explaining that to his superiors.

I usualy like to tap the breaks a few times as a warning (just drop a few kph) when I get tailgaters behind me, if they keep it up I just slow down to the speed limit (Im usualy am 15 above on hwy) I dont do a ...

Re: Fail to report at parking lot

Unlike if your on the road and a police officer instructs you to pull over, you have extra certain rights inside your own home. If a police officer knocks on your door to ask you some questions it would be in your best interest to be helpful. But what you discribe sounds to me like harasment. He tried to coerce or impel you to admit guilt. This may ...

Re: Failure To display two Plates

Visit a dealership and get the proper mounting for the front plate.

you can still file for trial and disclosure, you may get lucky that way. Or go to court to plead for a lesser charge.

It would help your case though if you get the problem fixed first.

Re: Falsely accused of hitting a car while backing from driveway

Is this cop a friend of the neibour?

even if they charge you with the accident. you have the right to go to court to fight the charges. And there is little evedence for them. TAKE PICTURES IMMEDIATELY of everything. including driveway, their house compared to yours ect, your car, their car. Maybe take pic and measure how high off the ground the ...
