Totaly agree with everyone above as far as it being the wrong ticket issued.
However I thought there was something in the law about turning left that only one vehicle could be in the intersection at a time. So if the truck was in the intersection waiting for it to be clear to turn left the OP shouldn't have been in the intersection at all.

I have searched and I know the general rule is no, barring criminal charges or tresspassing. So let me use 2 specific issues I have.

I agree with the above post but keep in mind that in some cases where the insides of the windows have become frosted or foggy, you would need to let that clear up with the defroster and the vehicle running. But there are subsections to the law allowing this.
