Re: Error on Ticket

Your insurance company will bring your rates up for three years following most HTA convictions.

As for the sign not being bilingual, this has consistently proven to be the "default" strategy for fighting "disobey sign" in many parts of Ontario. I'd do the leg work before your attempt to plea bargain with the Crown, meaning set up your trial date ...

Re: Error on Ticket

I made a right turn during prohibited hours (7am-6pm) in Toronto. I was ticketed by a COP who was specially watching for that trap.
After I've received the ticket HTA144(9), I discovered one of the seven digits of my license plate was incorrectly written on my ticket. I was thinking about to make a First Attendance at the court office to see the ...

Re: What are my rights when being pulled over?

I keep telling my wife the next traffic stop, I'm not saying ANYTHING! Just to see what happens. Well, I was stopped last month with most of my family in the car with me. The only word I said through the whole stop was, "Yes", when asked if I was the registered owner. I'm still mad I even said that, LOL.

I think complete silence would be viewed ...

Re: Following too close alternate charge?

Thanks for the responses. Out of curiosity, since it was a speed trap and there were two officers on site at the time even though only the one issued the ticket do both have to show in court if I can't get this bargained down?

Disclosure will tell you. I would say that the officer that witnessed the incident was the one that ticketed you, so ...

Re: Following too close alternate charge?

One of the good things about the OHTA is that the prosecutor can charge you with an unrelated offence upon plea bargain. You might get charged with a by-law infraction instead upon plea, which would have no demerit points associated with it. However, request disclosure if you haven't done so already, see what they have.

Do not admit being too ...

We pay $47/mo for the Escort, $53/mo for the Escape.
Rates are low cause no one will steal an Escort and the tank is so small on the Escape you might get to Barrie and have to fill up again..... :D :D :D :D

If it wasn't for the "putting your life on the line", I would have considered being a cop.

And yeah, that looked like fun.

Actually, two stationary object will slowly move closer to each other due to their own gravity....... usually though, not fast enough to cause damage.

Re: Change of location?

When you receive notice of the trial date, you can have some one from your family go in and request an adjournment to a later date. That's the easiest way.

Re: Ban the Cell Phones Law

The first thing is insurance companies should not offer any coverage on claims for those who get into accidents while talking on a cellular phone.

ok smarty clown, how do you propose we obtain this information that someone is talking on a phone and collides with something? I have never had anyone tell me that, even when prompted in an interview ...
