Re: Failure to Obey a sign

Short answer: No. There has to be a very serious error on the ticket for it to be voided. All of the mistakes can be fixed/amended unless they're something like missing offence date, missing defendant name, missing offence, or something like that.

There are other ways to fight this, however. What city did the offence occur in and was the sign ...

Re: *Updated, excerise my option to speak to a proscutor or tria

Couple of points: Be careful about "explaining" yourself to the Prosecutor. Some people in First Attendance meetings admit that they were speeding or whatever, the Prosecutor immediately stops all attempts to accept a bargain and goes right to court, then uses that statement against them! Not saying you would make that error, but it has happened ...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

Just today, there was an EMT Tahoe followed by a fire truck coming in the opposite direction from me. There was a concrete median and heavy traffic on my side, so I put on my four-ways but didn't stop (was watching for any indication that they would jump the median). Some guy in the opposite direction (same as the EMT) just stopped in the middle ...

Re: *Updated, excerise my option to speak to a proscutor or tria

As for "option 4: speaking to the Prosecutor," I can't say for sure if it is First Attendance or not. (Probably is.) Technically speaking, it wouldn't be so much a case of the Prosecutor "finding you guilty" as refusing to accept your offer. May be worthwhile placing a phone call and finding out what the option means.

Were there multiple officers ...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

Nicely said, racer.

Although one update: The York Region Police are now recommending to the Crown that they drop the charge against the 15-year-old boy who punched the bully in the face. That kid should never have been charged in the first place. The school board also really screwed that one up.

Re: Don't run

On a side note, think the OPP's Cessna 206H has a cruising speed of about 140 knots true airspeed (about 260 km/h). Someone trying to run would really have to floor it for a long period of time!

Re: Don't run

Aerial surveillance is an excellent way of keeping the subjects in sight without putting other officers/civilians at risk. Even crotch rockets can't really outrun the OPP's C-206. On the subject of fleeing, apparently there was a police pursuit that began in York Region and ended on the 401 near Avenue Road after police initially spotted what ...

Re: Don't run

Here is Ohio State Police answer to "crotch rockets". They have utilized a seized (from a drug dealer) Suzuki Hayabusa.

Ha ha ha, trooper on a crotch rocket!

Re: Guess where R.I is right now????

Reflections started this one... and the correct answer is: GTA. HOWEVER, I used to live in Windsor, so my knowledge of Windsor speed traps is reflective of roughly 2 yrs of living in the city. I have in-laws who live there and visit every 2-3 months or so. Will also be heading down to the area in a couple of weeks.

I figured this section was ...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

If this does get repealed this will make big time news. Well if its gets changed i heard Fantino's time is up soon as this would for sure cook his bacon along with him trying to get rid of a Jury member in his case with those 2 cops. So if this makes news and we find out this law was unconstitutional, etc and the impoundment on the stop was ...
