Get in touch with a paralegal. X-Copper is our website sponsor so I'd recommend talking to them first. They will be able to guide you through the process. This is the best way to avoid any further suspensions. However, to help them with the case, I'd recommend first re-visiting the area in which you were allegedly speeding.

Toronto Fire Service driving to a call
This is an actual video of the Toronto Fire Service driving to an emergency call. The firefighter is providing colour commentary. Rather interesting viewing as they manoeuvre through mid-town Toronto. Starts getting lively at about the 1:30 mark as they are driving westbound on Eglinton Avenue.

Re: Reporting hit-and-run
Sounds like he might've been drunk, particularly with the weaving in his lane, sideswiping you and continuing along as though nothing had happened. If you haven't got a hold of anyone, try the OPP Downsview detachment at 416-235-4981. If they won't take the call they should direct you to someone who will.

Re: Reporting hit-and-run
Dang Squishy! Sorry to hear that! Hope you're okay!
I probably would've called 9-1-1 or *OPP for that arch-dingbat... but now probably would call the nearest OPP detachment and see what they say. Where did the collision occur?
WTF - how did that moron NOT know he'd hit something?!?
I think the more detail you have, the better ...

Before you talk to the police again, get in touch with a paralegal ASAP!! X-Copper is our website sponsor so I'd recommend talking to them first. (Before doing that, re-visit the scene of collision with a pen and paper, take some photos so you can show the paralegal, and make as many notes as you can. Re-visiting the scene will help jog your memory ...

We are not allowed to give a "copy" of any part of a manual to anyone as it is a copyrighted. We have provided a manual at the court for someone to peruse thru if their so intent.
Okay, but the JP in this case said "you are not entitled to the radar manual." Looks like he was going to deny him any access to the material when he should've ...

Re: Improper left turn / failure to yield
The Highway Traffic Act says your husband made an improper turn and failed to yield. BUT... that's not the be-all, end-all of this situation. By the way, did your husband use a hand signal to indicate he was turning left since his turn signals were not working?

Re: license plates
As TC was saying, permanent plate has to be attached on both front and rear of vehicle. Wording seems to imply attached to the front grille or bumper. You could try seeking a reduced fine or plea-bargaining to something less, if the Prosecutor is willing. Would be at least worth a phone call to try to work something out. It's a little harder to ...

JP says: "You are not entitled to the radar manual, and based on case laws that I've decided on in the past, you need to do your research, come back on Sep 3"
 Most JPs have not been to law school, obviously this one hasn't either and hasn't done his research, either. Many people on this forum are more familiar with case law and precedent ...

Re: Ontario Highway Traffic Act Section 75 (1)
Well it might be worth taking it to court, if you have paperwork from the shop. Best thing to do is to make a disclosure request to the Crown to see what's in the officer's notes. The thing that might be an issue is the "straight exhaust" portion, can't say for sure one way or the other how that might turn out. But see how it goes.

Re: Disobey Sign U Turn Section 182(2)
We are able to enter photos taken on those $6 35mm film cameras, provided we have the orginals plus another copy of all photos should defence inquire. The other way was poloroid, photo copy the pictures and bring the orginals to court.
Would be $6 well spent. (Note to self: Carry $6 35mm camera next time driving through Chatham. :) Second note ...

Re: HTA 144(15): Amber Light - Fail To Stop
I want to do first attendance because I really do not want to go to trial and waste time from work. I would rather listen to the offer they make and if I agree, case closed as they say.
They should be willing to listen. The better you are at convincing them that you're trying to save their time (even though you really aren't), the more likely ...
