When I was a nervous young'n, I got a ticket for failing to produce my insurance slip. Just as the copp'r pulled away, I FOUND IT! So I pulled out quickly, flashed my headlghts, and pulled HIM over, LMAO!! Let me tell you, he was NOT impressed, LOL. He didn't even put his window down. He just said, "Tell it to my lawyer".
I went to court and the ...

Re: Last minute Disclosure delivery
He did hand-deliver it to the crown's office. The clerk there told him to take it to the police station, which he then did.
Thanks for the info TC, I'll pass it on and followup with the results.

Re: Police Notes
I think that's the price one pays when they point their finger and accuse a free citizen of committing an offence. The defendant has the right to tailor their defense to the specific evidence which will be used against them. Otherwise defense strategies would have to be bloated masses of "possible" lines of questioning that would totally swamp the ...

Re: Last minute Disclosure delivery
Yes, I remember reading that which is why a DOUBLE-asked him if it was FOR SURE the officer that called him... He's sure (left his name as Constable so-'n-so). Seemed odd to me.
Would this make a difference to the JP? My "gut" says, Improper Disclosure.

Re: Last minute Disclosure delivery
Just to be clear, the officer said he would present the disclosure "just before trial", not in advance. I read a response by Radar ID (elsewhere on this forum, in a similar scenario) that perhaps he should refuse to accept the last minute disclosure package and apply to the court for a stay instead.

Last minute Disclosure delivery
A co-worker (NOT ME!) got a court date of just 2 months after submitting his not-guilty plea on a speeding ticket. He hand delivered his disclosure request to the court and the clerk told him he needs to take it to the police station. He did so...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter
Fantino has been an excellent leader for us.
are you sure about that?
The public does not see the day to day operations and how things have changed for the better for the employees.
Sure he's great for the employees, but isn't his job to protect and to serve the general public ? I'm willing to bet there's 15,000+ (and growing) families out ...

Re: Failure to Obey a sign
Fatal errors are those that would make it impossible for you to mount a proper defense (such as wrong statute listed), or are SO bad as to suggest the officers lack of judgment or observations would put his credibility in question.
The two you mentioned are minor and would be amended by any JP at trial.

Is a "stay" the same as a "dismissal" (or finding of not-guilty).ticketcombat wrote:...Use the lack of disclosure to apply for a stay.

Re: Antique Autos / Hot Rods & Seat Belts
The word "Speed", when used in this phrase, is a noun. It describes a thing. When I say I was traveling at a "speed" of 10kph, does that mean "it kills"?
Unfortunately, we (as a society) seem to need simple little quotes to live our lives by. The phrase "speed kills" redirects attention from "real" dangerous driving behavior. Sure I just backed ...

Re: 4 Tickets, $440, And NEED ADVICE
Oh I DO understand WHY it's done. Just saying that never used to happen in the olden times ;). I think it's difficult for both sides to adapt to the modern environment.
Just imagine the respect drivers would have for police in general if they were issued fix-it tickets instead of real tickets. I've received two fix-it tickets in the last 10 years ...
