Ten Years Ago...
On September 3, 1999, 87 vehicles crashed on the 401 between Manning Road and Lakeshore 9th Concession Road (now Lakeshore Road 101) in dense fog. Eight people died, dozens more were injured. It was the worst pileup in Canada's history. This is video from the Windsor Star as survivors and emergency workers recount what happened that day:
