Re: Use of 'centre' lane

Tailgating will never end on our highways nor will aggressive driving. The province does not understand cause and effect. Like i said lets look at aggressive driving, tailgating, cutting people off, and passing on the right. Surely big problems. What would the province do. More fines. More cops. more money more resources.

They lowered the speed ...

Re: Following to close: no accident

Go to court, always, always.

The system is flooded anyways. They cant handle it all. The more people that go to court the worse it gets.

The whole system of traffic tickets depends on people paying.

The more people that go means they will have to do a few things. Give less tickets. Charge less so people actually pay and don't fight. Raise the ...

Re: Use of 'centre' lane

Good ideas, so would a more realistic speed limit. Enforcement of the move over law.

And one we should have is Massive Signs on Bridges and over pass that say in huge letters like the 50 over signs.

" SLOWER TRAFFIC MOVE RIGHT."
" MOVE RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS."

Unfortunately as i said a while back now we are screwing with transports putting them to ...

Re: Use of 'centre' lane

No body follows the rules. The 401 is retarded.

Everyone stays in the 2 left lanes. Some goof ball is always trying to do 110 in the left lane with a line of angry tail gaters behind him. No one travels in the left lane. So all the people who want to do over 130 just weave in and out of traffic or tailgate.

The only driving lane is the right lane ...

Re: So what...it's only 5km/hr more

Ya isn't that common sense though. So if driving 5 km/hr over is unsafe. Why don't we limit the highways to 50 km/h so the province can protect people from themselves?

People know this but they dont care. How do i know this. Cause when im on the 401 the guy in the left lane going 119 km/h with 10 cars on his bumper doesn't seem to care and nor do ...

Re: 68 over ..

The tahoe might have more cup holders and space for when hwybear does a tims run

The vics horsepower is 248 i think a 4.6 L v8?

I am not sure about the tahoe or charger.

The charger comes with all types of engines. The police one is the R/t i think it has around 350 hp....

I know they come up to a 5.7 L V8 or a 6 L V8.

That must cost ...

Re: Definition of 'highway'

I heard Julian Fantino is gonna have OPP officers and planes to patrol parking lots for aggressive driving.

Rumour is a 7 day license suspension and toe on the spot. Mandatory court date.

Re: 68 over ..

Interesting you guys only keep them to 150,000 km????

My question is for the Highway safety divisions why would they choose all tahoe's instead of charges or cars.

You would think for highway patrol you would want cars, and faster ones.

The charger would be perfect for highway enforcement.

Haha a group hug at tim hortons?

Get one of those tables with 6 seats and 2 dozen Boston cream and it will all be okay :p.

Hey hwybear just a random question. I don't know how long your guys shifts are but i assume you guys spend ALOT of time on the road. That i am sure can get quite aggravating and sometimes boring.

Do they take the AM/FM radio ...

Re: 68 over ..

Just go 49 over.

50 over you get towed. So go 49 then if you wanna speed like that.

haha i wonder what the officer thinks when he clocks a bunch of cars all like 145-149. Must just shake his head.

Re: 32 over reduced to 15 over

hey hwybear few questions.

OPP use Decatur genesis II i have seen it almost all cars. Along with the spectre 4/5 RDD's.

So the Decatur is a Kband always on radar. I noticed it has a front, rear, and patrol speed so the officer can get you without using a gun. So to clarify that means if you are racing up behind him in the left lane he can get ...

Re: Virginia has a $3000 (USD) speeding ticket...

What a joke.

They're just making it a crime what people already do regardless.

Most of the southern states have speed limits of anywhere from 75 to 85 in the desert down in texas.

I was on the QEW last night everyone was going 130.

If you were in the left lane doing anything less than 125 you would have a traffic jam behind you of angry ...

Re: Speed, Highway Safety & 172

Ive said this a million times.

Why do all sections and almost all 400 series highways have the same speed limit?

Rural areas should have higher limits and populated areas should have lower limits.

Almost all of Europe has this set up.

Fine the 401 through toronto you could argue should be 100. There is so much traffic its hard to go that speed ...

Re: People are Driving Faster

5. Another problem with 100 is you can't travel at this speed. Just try this anywhere around Toronto on a 400 series highway you can't do it. You'll get honked at, tailgated, passed, cut off. Why must you be forced to break the law to drive?

Because if you set higher speed limits there will always be a few inconsiderate A-holes who will break ...
