Calling the police for a rear-end collision, will guarantee the at-fault party a Careless Ticket
The other driver will have to appear in court and provide witness testimony to the accident; if the other driver doesn't appear, the charges will be withdrawn

Re: Interest on unpaid fines??
unpaid tickets are sold to collection agencies for pennies on the dollar; ultimately there is a real possibility that unpaid tickets will go unpaid
collection agencies have lucrative access to your personal information/activity; if you started to use your credit card to make some big purchases, you'll start getting more frequent calls

you give one of the copies to the courts (where you initially filed your tickets), they will then give it to the judge on the day of trialHoodedvillan wrote:Who do you give the two binded copies to? the court and the prosecutor? or do you hold on to a binded copy and give it to the judge on the day of the trial? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: If you lose in court...can they up the fine to $1000?
they will most likely seek the out-of-court fine indicated on your offense notice
if this was your 2nd, 3rd .. 4th time repeating the offense, then maybe... keep in mind the fine amount is upto the Justice of Peace; if you can show exception circumstances related to your financial stability, you might even get zero fine, or something ridiculously ...

If they sent a notice of trial to the wrong enforcement agency, does this mean there is a possibility the officer will not get his 'Notice of Trial'?
ergo, not show up to trial?

this will be at the discretion of the prosecutor, they will most likely drop the insurance ticket in exchange for a plea-deal for the speeding ticket

how would we go about getting the Niewiadomski case or any other case not available on CanLII?

not sure if Thornhill falls under the City of Vaughan or Markham, regardless... look online or call the city and find out their designated fire route by-laws, it should state clearly where the fire route is located
simply erecting a fire route sign, does not make it a fire-route unless there is an associated by-law that supports it
i don't think ...
