Statically warnings don't fix the problem. Sure most people will take the cover off, but cause we can't stop everyone, a large number will not. I've personally had several drivers make the changes, satisfy the 72 hr notice, then go put the illegal equipment back on.
Just to add to FyreStorm post... any length of notice (24, 48, 72hrs, a week ...

Re: When officers break the law...
. Once most of the casual drunk driving got to be a bit of a taboo in polite society and drivers started paying attention to how much they drink, the effective blood alcohol limit got lowered.
the blood alcohol limit has not been lowered. Further it is 2 seperate charges you are merging into one, each charge has its own facts to meet the offence.

If 3) Prioritize and focus the enforcement activities on really dangerous habits or habits that cause really dangerous situations - running lights, not signaling turns/lane changes in traffic, cell phones (I still see people yapping all over the place but they're still safe as long as they don't go over the speed limit ), left lane bandits ...

. If the public doesn't see the results of those internal reviews whose mystery is only exceeded by their power, we lose faith in the system where we are being punished for our wrongdoings while nobody's keeping a check on those doing the punishing.

Re: Parked facing wrong way, parking on one side only
provided there is no bylaw, what would you do as a conscientious driver?
I will always park right wheel to right side or always keep right. If it means I turn my vehicle aroun, so be it.
it is not b/c of work I do this....it's a little OCD, even in my own driveway 2 wide...right wheel to grass edge on right....if my wife happens to park on the ...

Re: 74 in a 50 trial date today, a few quick tips?
The notes provided could be directly on the back of the officer's copy of the offence notice. There is no need to put a date on the back of the ticket.
If the notes are in the notebook of the officer you should see a time to the left of a margin, that is where the notes start for the incident being photocopied.
just an fyi

Re: Summons to appear ?
What the "pink" summons does it "order" you to court on the specific date. On that date you will still have the normal 3 options(guilty, guilty with explanation or trial).
The zero fine listed is b/c the officer used the Provincial Offence Notice Summons, which is a "pink" summons in a normal "ticket book". There is a spot for a fine, but since ...

Re: Parked facing wrong way, parking on one side only
From what I have seen it is only safe to park on the proper side. I have seen vehicle going in one direction, only to get the outline of a vehicle ahead, not seeing red (reflectors on back of vehicle), therefore thought the vehicle was coming at them with no lights on and went right...only to end up going across a curb and onto a lawn.

Re: Mto driver interview
This is an interview to determine if the licence should be suspended, therefore it will remain in this area to be searched easier in the future. Most regular members likely hit "see topics since last visit", therefore the topic is brought up. Since you do not have any replies, I would guess that no one on here has been to an interview before or ...

Re: Fail to stop - the stop sign was not visible from 60m
As for the photographs - I think that should take care of it. If you do not get a favourable ruling at trial, it still leaves the option open for an appeal, particularly with all the evidence you have. You've got proof the sign was not compliant with O.Reg 615. If the JP doesn't see it your way, a Justice hearing the appeal should.

Re: What's wrong with the Provincial Offense Court system
Maybe a new system should be designed and pick one option online (no response in 7 days and you are found guilty)
1) plead guilty
2) plead guilty with time to pay
3) resolution court, where you try to make a resolution or then ask for trial court (waving your 11B)
4) trial court - there will be a trial, failing to attend for trial is an extra ...

Re: What's wrong with the Provincial Offense Court system
But how come you can't request a trial date to dispute the charge online?
I would guess that b/c it would be way worse than the snail mailing system, people ask for a trial, tie up court time and do not show. Maybe a $500-1000 penalty should be imposed to anyone that does not show to trial after requesting one?
