Whether the person is a police officer or a relative or whatever, does not change your scenario.....so that comment is uncalled for right from the top!

Irregardless of who the drivers are I would have issued the same offence notice of "careless driving" to the driver that did the "hitting".

Re: Neck-breaking speeds while running from the cops!!!
Whether the vehicle is 25 over or 25 under....if the vehicle is not stopping it a "flight from police" (CC) and "fail to stop for police" (HTA).
There is dangerous driving charges according to the news article, so there is more to this than speed alone.....and as I mentioned could have started on a different road, just happened to end on the 427.

I have issued that type of offence notice I would guess 3-5 times in the time I have been here.....all were from traffic complaints, I was able to count how many vehicles behind the subject vehicle as it went by. I can not recall which section I used. Would have to look it up. Never went to court with any

Re: Removable trailer hitches and covers
Are you speaking of a fifth wheel lower plate attached in the bed of the pickup? If so, someone is full of *EDIT*.
If not, can you put a photo of what you are speaking about.
Trailer hitch receiver....flush with a bumper? more crapola!

Re: Halton "TAXI"
Bear, out of curiosity, do you also nail those moving road blocks in the passing lane? In most cases they are speeding, but are still holding up traffic and encouraging others to drive aggressively just to get around'em. .
If the vehicle is overtaking another vehicle, I will not bother them, unless they are speeding (20+). If the vehicle behind ...

I've always said that marked cruisers do a heck of a lot more to improve highway safety than ninja tactics.
A vast majority of drivers never have anything to worry anyway, so marked or unmarked would not make a difference. The jackasses that everyone complains about rarely do their ritual bad habits when a marked car is around.

Re: So just how many deaths ARE acceptable??
A person is driving and has a medical issue that kills them and then has a crash is the ONLY death we should accept on our roads. Everything else was preventable in some way, shape or form.
