Hi taikora,
Can you elaborate a little bit. If the speed limit is 100, you were likely on a controlled access highway with multiple lanes in each direction. Were you alone in the car? What lane were you traveling in when the boggy latched on to your bumper and stuck like glue? What was the road lighting like? What was traffic like? Did you change ...

I hope so; that looks great. What is that cross piece on top of the (de-badged) grill (just under the hood line)?

1. Drivers driving slower than traffic in the left lane. Move to the right, darnit.
2. Drivers turning left long after their advanced green has expired. I really want the police to start enforcing the laws against running a red light in this case.
3. Drivers not stopping behind the line making turning left (when they are on the left) difficult ...

You're right; you have to stop stressing. I all likelihood, you're over 21. (Otherwise, I imagine, the charge would have been having a BAC above 0.) You're a man or woman who made a mistake. This mistake is not the end of the world; it's not good but it could have been so much worse. Of course you don't want your parents to find out. But if they do ...

can you elaborate? I assume that generally this cannot be done but there may be exceptional circumstances in which it is allowed?

Nice Job On The New Look 'N' Feel
I haven't logged in for a few weeks. Too damned busy keeping up with all my so-called-friends on Facebook (tm). Anyway, I like the changes. So, whoever did this, good work.

I'm not 100% sure. I blew up both photos (with pretty crappy software -- I'm sure theirs is much better). I think that it is possible that they took the upper picture and cropped it (on the left side) just slightly to the left of the trunk deck lid. The part of your tail light that glows is to the left of that (and would be excluded from the lower ...

Re: Your rights when the five O pull you over
lots of consented searches get tossed in court. The man above is right, even if they find something it will likely get thrown out. Consent is usually determined to have been given under duress. (The guy had a gun, how could i say no?).
All i can say is, at least they were nice enough to ask.... Niagara cops didn't even give me that.

Wow. I don't care how many times I saw Ken Block do that drive, I would not be the guy on the Segway (Brian Scotto).
Those hairpin turns are sick. Drifting on the rims (starting at around 6.05) is not featured in the current Ford Fiesta commercial.

The HTA can be found here http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/statutes/english/elaws_statutes_90h08_e.htm and other places. I can't find anything in it that requires slow acceleration. I know that losing traction when accelerating from a stop (wheel spin) is a bad thing, but I didn't think that there was any section that limited how fast I can ...

My job is not to teach the kid his rights.
If I ask to search and he consents I am doing just that.
I know my rights and when I can search. I have a job to do and will do it.
Besides if anything is found and he is charged the courts will most likely toss the search anyways.
ops

Re: Your rights when the five O pull you over
The magic here is how the officer phrases the question, "May
I search your car?", you have the right to say no.
IMO, the only acceptable way to phrase this is: "May I search your car? You have the right to say no and, if you do, there will be no consequences."
Many of us more seasoned, 50-something, people know that we have the right to say no ...

First to hk111: <I don't want to turn this into a flame war, but...> Be careful with the words you choose. You are coming across like a ne'er do well. The police have to follow the laws that govern their behaviour just like you have to follow laws that govern your behaviour. There are cops on this forum who spend their time posting valuable ...

This province is getting scary insane. Where did these cops get the idea that they should search an innocent citizens' automobile? The freaking nerve! Some people are watching too much Cops on television.; they simply went fishing which is just plain wrong.
