Re: Dash Video Camera

Hello Members,
I drive Tractor Trailer (LTL in GTA) I recently set up a make shift Video camera on my passenger side windshield. I have seen to many of my fellow drivers fall prey to the MTO, and those MTO inspection stations that you pull your trunk into, can tear up your world in no time.
My question here is if I have to go to court, how much ...

Re: How to Check Your Demerit Points?

Can you provide any authority for this? Because lots of people here can provide plenty of anecdotal experience that this is NOT true.

"Greatest Canadian" was a nutty user here who talked to himself in an attempt to prove his theories and pass them off as fact. He was the type of kook who would probably try to convince you paying taxes were ...

Re: Need Advice: Trial in 15days..is it too late to request

My wife told her that we didn't get a response to the disclosure request.. and almost immediately, the prosecutor asked if we wanted a new trial date (which is what we wanted). That set off some alarms, and my wife replied that she will have a look at the disclosure and let her know. The fact that the prosecutor was readily agreeing to change the ...

Re: First Ticket: 32km over. Help.

You will definitely be offered something in between 16-29km and 3 demerit points. I don't know how willing they are to go down to 1-15km and 0 demerit points. It depends on the prosecutor, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I don't know how determined pointts or a similar organization is willing to fight your ticket. Usually they show up and take the ...

Re: Exhaust Loudness

well i'm not going to pay a $110 fine for driving a perfectly stock car..... What is the ratio of decibles to cylinders? I have a sound pressure meter i will test my car.

It's a city bylaw that applies to motorcycles only, as already stated. Again, there is no decibel chart for a regular exhaust ticket as I have already said previously. This ...

Re: Park interfering with snow removal...

Thanks for the reply.

Does anyone know if the infraction I was charged with is serious, in terms of car insurance notification? I can't be deducted demerit pts with a by-law, correct?

There are no demerit points and no insurance penalties. They are unable to determine the driver of the vehicle, therefore they can't charge a specific license ...

Re: Park interfering with snow removal...

not perfectly sure if it applies... but from what i can see from what you say, if you are not in violation of that Act, you can easily fight the ticket. If the officer has charged you with violation of a different act then we'd need to look into that further. :)

He or she wasn't charged under the highway traffic act. They were ticketed by ...

Re: Exhaust Loudness

What makes officers able to give you a ticket on a loud exhaust. Please back it up with whatever you have. How can harley's drive around without punishment but i get nailed for a stock Honda Civic Si exhaust? :(

Do Civic owners have noise by-laws specific to their vehicle, which based on the amount of cylinders, their exhaust can't go ...

Re: Careless driving incident

That's pretty much it, thanks for your help, much appreciated

Just so you are aware, you are a novice driver who falls under novice driver sanctions. Careless driving comes with a 6 demerit point penalty. Since it is a single offense carrying 4 or more points, your license will be suspended for 30 days. It's something to consider if by chance ...

Demerit Points
How do I verify how many demerit points I have. I got a speeding ticket in Alberta a couple of years ago but am unsure as to whether it's still on my record.

You can order a your driving abstract online and get it immediately in a pdf. Demerit points in Ontario last two years from the day you received your ticket.

Re: Need Advice: Trial in 15days..is it too late to request

Hi

I was charged with speeding (82 in 60 Zone) back in August on EB Lakeshore, and I received the trail date via mail on 15th Dec. I receive the mail till 7th Jan 2013, bcos I was on vacation till then. My trial date has been set to 5th March '13.

I really didn't know much about fighting tickets, till I came across TicketCombat and requesting ...

Re: Have trial next week for Failure to Obey Stop Sign

What if I say I did stop, then use the two photos to contest the officer's notes that claims 1) he had an unobstructed view (I can question him if there is anything else between him and the vehicle), and 2) the stop signs were unobstructed and clear in all directions. Would that be sufficient to prove reasonable doubt?

If you are claiming you ...
