Take the deal and run as fast as you can. It won't really get any better than this.

Re: Radar detector offense

Whether he did pull you over or not, it wouldn't matter. He couldn't even answer the question because he doesn't have the details of your stop. They're rare offenses yes, but certainly not one in a million.

As of a defense of having a radar in the car, take a look at the section:

79 (2): No person shall drive on a highway a motor vehicle that is ...

Re: Siezed plates

Once MTO or Police confiscate plates, those plates cannot be returned. You must go to the ministry and get new plates for the vehicle. Summons are summons because they have no set fine, based on severity, repeat offenders, etc, the fine will vary.

You were charged with:

84. (1) No person shall drive or operate or permit the driving or operation ...

Re: Stunt driving charge at officers discretion ???

The sense I get, is there is a lot of pressure from other vested parties, politicians etc, to secure convictions for stunt at trial. So I would suspect the bar is quite high, higher than normal for sure, to get the charge dismissed.

That's because stunt driving is a SERIOUS offence. Comparing stunt driving and speeding is like comparing Impaired ...

Re: Speeding Ticket 30 km in 50 km limit but charged 15km ov

Remember that anything 16 km/h or more over the posted speed limit has demerit points, although these don't affect your rates - just your driving record itself.

This is incorrect...

1 to 15 over is 0 demerits and considered a MINOR conviction by insurance which can cause your rates to go up.
16 to 29 over is 3 demerits and also considered a ...

Re: Stunt driving charge at officers discretion ???

What I find helps a lot, be honest, apologize, and acknowledge that you've done something wrong. I'm probably the last one to talk, but last year, I was pulled over for stunt driving 4 times. I think the most I was caught over was 96 km/h over (146 in a posted 50). I think the worst punishment I got was two lightbulb infractions. The other ...

Re: Red Light Camera ticket while turning right

Where did you stop your vehicle? If your tires were stopped before the white line, your good and should take it to trial, as you did not fail to stop. Even if you stop, you must stop before the white line, otherwise its not considered stopping (which is what I believe to have happened).

Clear Plate Covers

I know the topic of plate covers has come up more than once, so it got me thinking. If I was to buy a clear plate cover (https://www.amazon.ca/Cruiser-Accessories-Tuf-Shield-Clear-License/dp/B0013VT5N8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1460476579&sr=8-4&keywords=clear+plate+cover), that was untinted, and does not obscure any part of the plate, would it still ...

Re: Can police see insurance by running plates?

Not sure of the answer. I know the ministry knows if you have insurance or not. When I pull insurance off my summer car (fire and theft only) I get a notice from MTO stating that I cannot apply for new stickers until I can prove I have liability insurance on the vehicle. I was stopped about 4 months ago for driving with my high beams on (Honestly ...

Re: Failing to stop for a school bus G2 driver

The only reason I would believe a summons would be issued is if he was charged under 175(19) as the owner. Was the summons issued the same day, or more than 30 days but less than 6 months after the incident? If the summons was issued the same day then as above states, he had to receive a summons for another non-ticketable offense.

Also bear in ...

Re: Fighting handicapped parking ticket of $450

I got one of these last year April, and my court date is next month, so I don't know how backlogged they actually are. None the less, request disclosure, and hopefully they won't have it ready for your case (the situation which I'm in right now). That way, you'll be able to get an adjournment and that helps your case even more for an 11B.

Do you have your G2 or your G. Just be aware that if you are convicted of Careless and only have a G2, your license will be suspended for 30 days.

yes, the diagram is right on!

the green vehicle cut off the yellow vehicle, had no right to squeeze in on the right like that but the yellow still had to check the blind spot. question is since yellow had his right turn signal turned on then isn't the green car at fault?

Just because a vehicle has it's turn signal on, doesn't mean it has the ...

There were no tickets written that day.

Whenever Summons are issued, all charges will be summons.

essentially the 80 zone is on the end of 410 north, with in my view, insufficient signage of speed limit change. 410 typically has a 100 kph speed limit. That area is a well known for speed traps.

Doesn't Matter. Speeding is Speeding. If the ...

Re: Radar detector offense

Just curious, do all police vehicles come equipped with RDD? The reason why I'm asking is from April - September, the same woman, driving the same convertible Porsche with the plate "Hate 2 Wait" keeps driving erratically down Birchmount everyday. I always look over, and I always see a Radar Detector mounted on her dashboard. Its in clear visible ...
