Re: $450 disabled loading zone ticket
Here are the guidelines for automatic parking ticket cancellation by city staff in Toronto:
http://www.toronto.ca/pay-toronto-ticke ... elines.pdf
The Prosecutor could still reduce the fine/charge if the city staff do not cancel the ticket.

Re: Driving on the shoulder after being boxed in.
People write down licence plates all the time. At the risk of sounding flippant, unless they actually were able to identify you or they phoned it in as it was happening (offence in progress), this is probably the response they got:
"Uh huh... uh huh... Okay, thanks for calling." *Click.*
You may get called by police, but that is not likely in ...

Re: annual inspection certificate
Not that this applies to the HTA, but the federal Interpretation Act says that "12th month after the date of the inspection" would mean the sticker is expired on the 31st of August. (Again, probably not applicable here... but time/validity is something I have to deal with from time to time, but my line of work falls under federal regs.)

Re: Emergency vehicles
My first idea was to pull over to the right but I held steady.
There is no "one size fits all" answer here, really. I'd keep to the right unless the situation I'm observing and/or my judgement dictates otherwise. Seems to work. I guess the only one that would really be appropriate for everything is "don't make any sudden moves." If you're going ...

Re: 159km/h in 100 zone
Mostly insurance. For a licence, it is four demerit points - significant but not severe.
Some insurance companies consider 50 over to be "major", some say 45 over, some say 30 over. Depends on the company. They all use different risk assessment tools to set their rates. Some of them will cancel a policy for a conviction for 49 over, but to my ...

Then again, there have been drivers who have been stopped for drinking alcohol while driving... in front of a marked police cruiser. (Just ask the OPP who patrol the 400 on a summer long weekend.)

Re: Out-of-province: can I ask someone else to represent me?
It is possible to request disclosure. Basically all you'd ask for in this case are the officer's notes (typed/explained if not legible), and video/photographic evidence if any exists. That's about it. They'll probably offer a plea-bargain to a reduced charge if your record is relatively clean.

Re: Hwy 7 & Leslie - Left turn collision
Request an adjournment on the day of trial if the typed notes do not come through. Just explain that you cannot make full answer and defence without understanding the notes, and for that reason, it has to be legible, or the officer has to go through it with you. If the witnesses do not show up, they should withdraw the charge.

Re: $450 disabled loading zone ticket
The city of Toronto released some guidelines for cancelling parking tickets. I think they might apply to your case (delivery truck driver on delivery). I don't have the link, but if you google it you might get an answer there. I'm not 100% sure, but give it a shot...

Re: wrong information on the NOTICE OF TRIAL
And then argue that I did not receive the notice of trail and ask the justice to stay the case?
If it were that easy, don't you think that everyone would be doing that already? Everyone could then walk in to court "I didn't receive a notice" and be let off. The Provincial Offences Act already has that covered, as Simon indicates. The onus is on ...

Re: Disobey Sign - HTA 182 (2) - Mississauga
He told me the best way to go about it is to Pick Option 2 on the back of the ticket and ask the Justice for leniency and that when he got information back regarding this ticket he would write it off?
Well... that's not right. I'm sure the officer said that, but it's not right. If you pick option 2 (plead guilty with an explanation), what ...

Re: Hit by other vehicle while turning permitted left turn
The rates will probably go up in that case, unfortunately. It sucks, given the move by the other motorist, however that's what the rules are. (I don't make the rules, I just shake my head at some of them.)
