Doesn't hurt to try and see if you can get a paralegal to knock the speeding ticket down a bit too.

Re: Got speeding ticket with no Date on the ticket.

Oh and how would you suggest that I best document my whereabouts at that time? Iv never tried to be caught somewhere on purpose lol. I'd hate to have drag someone with me to court, any other suggestions on how to prove where I was?

Thanks

Re: No time to file for disclosure

You might get your disclosure package in time, but if you don't you can just explain to the Justice that you didn't know about disclosure and that you need time to review it in order to defend yourself and the Justice should grant you an adjournment.

As for your other questions, YES it is possible that an officer could pull two people over and get ...

what is the fine and demerit points for overcrowding your car, for e.g driving with 10 people in a 7 passenger van.

a follow up question what if the said van gets in an accident and it takes a while for the cops to get to the scene and the driver lies about the number of occupants in the van and says there were only 7 in the car, and at a later ...

Speed Limit During Certain Times?

Recently in my town (suburbs of Ottawa) one of our busier 40km/h zones got bumped up to a 50km/h zone (yes it actually happened :D ). Down the road a little bit there is a high school and then an elementary school a little further along. The elementary school zone has community safety zone signs but remains a 50km/h speed limit. Before the ...

Seems like a long time to have not been given any kind of notice so far. It's possible I suppose that your request was improperly filed at the court and your daughter was found guilty for not disputing the charges within 15 days (unlikely but it could happen). In which case because you obviously didn't pay the fine her license would currently be ...

I believe I was a hazzard and was not staying with the flow of the traffic. I believe I put my own life in danger as well as fellow motorists because I was not keeping up with the flow of the traffic.

LOL. Sounds like a smart move to me

Those "no u-turn" zones are actually no uturn, authorized vehicles exempt. Police cars would fall into that category so he's fine being there. From my experience police love to use a "turnaround" or to be just behind a bridge when it comes to speed enforcement.

Warning Tickets

For a "warning" ticket (one which has a payable fine of $) I understand that they have no affect on your driving record directly. However, if you are pulled over at a later date will that officer be able to see that you have gotten a warning in the system or is it registered anywhere at all? If it is registered how long would something like this ...

Having a dirty plate isn't a criminal offense (no criminal record associated with it obviously) so therefore it is not a crime. Yeah that's basically the definition of a crime: something that the government deems to be a criminal offense.

Well I did my course just yesterday and I have to say it was well worth the $395. I'm going to try sending off the certificate to my insurance company and we'll see if they do anything for me.

Request disclosure first this will give you a clear idea of their perspective and how they will be trying to get your convicted. From the sound of things it seems that there are two officers involved and BOTH will need to attend court or else you will win. If one officer allegedly spotted you and then flagged the other to pull you over then both ...

In the past three days going to work I have seen at least one cruiser on each occasion in this section of road. I'm pretty sure somewhere on your ticket there is a note that the offense was on a bicycle and you shouldn't receive any points from it/it won't go on your actual driving record. Bicycle related offenses just carry the fines unless I've been getting incorrect information from people I know who have gotten tickets on bikes.

I'd still advise you to ...

He let you off with 2 warning tickets so in the end you really can't complain about anything at all. Also, "following too closely" requires that the police identify an affected driver (the person you allegedly followed too closely) in order to get a conviction. Usually the only way to do this is if a collision occurred. If they do not have an affected driver to present, the chances of a conviction are very low. The officer cannot be the ...
