Re: I have a court date but it's on ZOOM VIDEO has anyone dealt with this ?

They mailed me notice of trial and provided Zoom call-in details in that, mine is just "failing to signal lane change"

I have a court date but it's on ZOOM VIDEO has anyone dealt with this ?
Since this will be a ZOOM VIDEO I have no chance of officer "not showing up" since it's a pre-arranged video conference available with a click of a button ? Also how do you discuss the matter with prosecutor before the actual trial if it's a Video Call ? I'm totally confused.

Requesting Disclosure online - where is section number ?

I'm requesting disclosure online with Halton Court Services, one of the things they ask for is : Section No.
Explanation says:
On a "Notice of Trial", the section number is found near the top after the defendant's name and address. On the "Certificate of Offence", the section number is found half way down.

There is nothing mentioned after my name ...

Red Light Camera Ticket - Best Option to get it reduced ?

Someone else was driving my car and I got the ticket in the mail addressed to the "owner of the vehicle" . I know there is pretty much 0% chance of fighting it for not guilty but I hope they can at least reduce it. Do I choose "Option 1 Trial Option" or "Option 2 Early Resolution" to get it reduced ?

Failed to Signal while changing lanes - Can it be reduced ?

I got a ticket for failing to signal lane change HTA 142(1) on a 2 lane road. If I decide to fight it and go to court, would the prosecutor offer to reduce this just for showing up , and if so what would they possibly reduce it to since this is already a pretty low charge and low fine ($85).

Re: Red Light Camera Ticket - not my car

I think you've misunderstood the situation a bit here. Your situation and this situation are apples and oranges.

As to the original poster, you should probably start by visiting a police station and reporting your license plate as being stolen asap. I believe they might give you a form to take to a Service Centre so you can straighten things ...

Red Light Camera Ticket - not my car

My father parked his old disabled car in a parking lot of his mechanic couple months back (outside) I guess he did not remove the plates, because he just received a $338 red light camera ticket from another part of GTA, the license plate is his but the car in the picture is not his (different make, color).
I presume he can go to court to defend ...

Re: Police officer didn't show up and JP rescheduled the tri

Hi,

Police officer didn't show up so I thought the tickets I got would be withdrawn. However, the JP said the trial needs to be rescheduled; now I need to take another day off to attend. Many people at the court with me also appealed but their trials were rescheduled, too. Is this common practice? If police officer doesn't show up again, would it ...

Update:

I requested more detailed disclosure as the original did not give enough info, they never responded to the 2nd request so I went on my court date ready to request an adjournment until I get my disclosure request fulfilled. Officer was a no-show for unknown reason, charge withdrawn.

Re: WIN speeding 26 over

Do you have any knowledge if filing to have radar evidence dismissed for that particular device has worked in cases before or is this something you came up with by yourself ?

Since the radar evidence is the main evidence, if the motion gets upheld does it basically dismiss the prosecutions case ? Officer can't testify what the radar said since it ...

Just finished reading your detailed report thanks for that ! So basically prosecutor figured it would be too much work for 10 over ticket considering the 2 motions you have filed ?

Re: Detailed Disclosure Request for Radar Gun Ticket

Since I can't read the officer notes, should I request typed version and if not received before trial date can I request an adjournment based on that or would the JP just ask the police officer to clarify the notes for me right there ?

They don't have to be typed, they just have to be clear. So yes, if it's hard to read you can ask for ...

***UPDATE***

I requested detailed disclosure including manual, typed officer notes.
All I received is a first page of Radar Gun manual it's Decateur GHD Scout, and completely unreadable officer notes (not typed)

My trial date is in 3 weeks, the 2 questions I have:

Is it possible to challange that particular radar device and how ?

Since I can't ...

I think your son could be in heaps of trouble so he should thank god and the easy going lady, pay the total costs and then some and be happy with that, borrow moneyif you or he has to and get it over with without involving insurance.

Re: Detailed Disclosure Request for Radar Gun Ticket

Thanks, one more question, do I send the disclosure request to the Prosecutor's Office at the address given on the Notice of Trial ?
I am asking because I sent the original Trial Request to the City of Barrie,ON and the actual TN came with a different address of a court in Churchill,ON

Detailed Disclosure Request for Radar Gun Ticket

I got a ticket clocked by OPP with a radar gun parked on a side of the road in the middle of the night inside his cruiser.
The officer was alone parked on the side of a 2 lane highway in pitch black darkness if that matters.

What is the most detailed disclosure I can request based on that ?

Trial Date in 5 days , can I request adjournement ?

I have my trial date 5 days from today, an unexpected trip has come up and I have to leave in 2 days and be back in 10 days.

Can I simply go to court office in person and request a new trial date ? Would they accommodate such request on a short notice like this ?

Speeding ticket reduced - best strategy ?

I got a speeding ticket , officer showed me his radar gun clocked at 118km in 80 zone, I didn't say anything gave him my paperwork and he went back to the cruiser, came back with a 20 over ticket.

My understanding is that if this goes to trial, they will amend the speed back up to the original radar reading in his notes.

So what is the best ...
