HTA General penalty

214. (1) Every person who contravenes this Act or any regulation is guilty of an offence and on conviction, where a penalty for the contravention is not otherwise provided for herein, is liable to a fine of not less than $60 and not more than $500. .

Note I didn't check schedule 43, likely the fine is $85.

There is no set fine for a summons.

By the sounds of it the section is 12(1)(d) which there is no set fine, therefore the officer does not have a fine to give at roadside, therefore a summons is issued.

can check out the section on the summons and look it up here..
