Failed Tosurrender Vehicle Permit Ticket

by: pello on

I took a dealers car for a test drive, while driving got stopped by police for no reason. at the end gave me a ticket for failing to produce permit,

my question is. the car is not mine i was only testing it. he wont even let me go get it for him, i was only 100 ft a way from the dealer.today i went to the dealer and ask why they dont keep the permit in with plate, their answer was it is with the plate. so i got a ticket for not knowing that the permit in with plate.

I am fighting it my court on sept. 27th

any ideas what to say to the judge

anything will be appreciated, sorry for the long detail.

thanks

The dealer would not have the whole permit attached/behind the plate. The portion with the plate would be the "plate permit", which is 1/2 the ownership required to produce to police. The other 1/2 is the vehicle permit.

Everytime you use/borrow any vehicle/trailer that is not yours ask for the complete permit. A photocopy will suffice.
