Second Ticket Without Probable Cause? Plate Light Out

by: cdn_in_ca on

So i got pulled over for failing to signal my lane change, eventhough no one was around.. but the officer when he checked to see if my lights were working, noticed my license plate light was out.

he issued me a ticket for the plate light.. can he issue me this ticket even though he didnt notice the plate light until I was pulled over?

Probable cause = been watching too much tv from the USA.

Yes, a vehicle can be pulled over for fail to signal and then be given a licence plate light offence or BOTH offences could have been issued.

The officer used some discretion, rather than issuing a moving violation offence notice with 2 demerit points, you received an equipment violation with 0 points.
