Re: First post: Is there a speed allowance for overtaking?

If you fight the ticket you will get an extended time Until you are guilty.
Doing this will help with the 2 tickets in 3 years.
On the day of the trial you can pay if you want but it will a delay to the insurance finding out about it.

It may even get you past the time where the 1rst one is past.

Re: 2nd ticket in 3 months - Please help

Hi,

So I have never had a speeding ticket before, I'm 28 now and got my license as soon as I turned of age. I've been driving a few years without and problems, but this summer for some reason I got nailed twice.

The first ticket I got was on my way home from a meeting for work, I was in scarborough, I live in Durham so I wasnt familiar with the ...

Stanton said $6 you said $7?

It works for $6 but not $7.

Might be worth a look.

Re: How green is a green vehicle?

I think the key is "no energy use" when in stop and go traffic.
Every engine has a sweet spot with maximum power and least effort.
New cars have 8-10 speed transmissions that help a lot.
I had a 3800 buick that would be 25 % better millage at 135 kph ,then at 100 kph.
Then again 20 years ago I had a 400 Suzuki that would get 85 miles per gallon ...

Re: Cops and Traffic Stops

Okay. So what is the polite way to say "I do not consent to give you permission to search me or my vehicle."?

The answer is. Do you have a search warrant?

If not. say no you cannot.

So to the guy who said "if you have nothing to hide then who cares" how would you have liked to have been in my situation? It was embarrassing and demeaning as hell. Cops are not God, this is not Soviet Russia and people have rights.

and obviously we only heard your side of this...however, if this is completely true, you should have made a ...

Re: Cops and Traffic Stops

About a year ago I was on a side street doing crossword puzzles.
I looked in my rear-view and saw the cherry lights, what a surprise.
I was just sitting there not even noticing that I was pulled over.
I was in no hurry and the cop was on his way quickly .
They can ask to look but if they just search whatever they find is useless in court unless
it ...

Re: need help for disable parking ticket

"If you were waiting for a disabled person."
You had every right to wait there.
My wife is disabled and if I drop her off I wait farther away as a courtesy.
If you want to be a prick and take up a spot you are probably entitled to it.
Whether it sticks or not kudo's to the cop.

In a round about way they are just making you do unnecessary stuff for ...

Re: need help for disable parking ticket

I was ticketed for parking in the disable spot without permit in Tor.

The trial date is 18 months and 10 days from the offence day.

I need advice/opnion for the following questions:

1.Go to court and plead guilty: what would the reduced fine be upon plea bargain?

2.Constitutional challenge 11b: any chance of success for an 18 months and ...

Re: Failure to stop at a stop sign, but threatened with spee

Wow.

Extrapolating from what you are saying, the officer is, of course, not obligated to inform the driver of any additional charges he MIGHT CONSIDER in addition to the offence notice he is actually handing out.
If so, would this not open the door to a "and NOW I am going to teach you!" reaction when the driver decides to plead not guilty? If ...

Re: Red proceed before green

The truth:
Left lane will merge into right lane after the traffic light due to the construction. I was waiting for it to turn into green while did not notice police car was right beside me. In order to safely merge into right lane. I was timing and started a bit too early . Then I stopped right way until it was green. Then I changed to the right ...

If you go into the office with $1,500.00 and a plan to pay off the rest in a timely fashion,
you will most likely get time to pay.

If the JP agrees to your plan your charges go back to when you were charged with them.
Under the terms you asked for. (JP can alter of course)

The main thing is to have a plan to pay and most importantly do whatever ...

Re: No Insurance 14day rule

I asked the expert for you.
Since you did the transaction 365 days ago no 14 day rule.
If you had changed ownership it would have passed.
Just like any other car.
It was in your name so insurance has lapsed. (no 14 day rule)(unless you forgot to delete it and still paid up)

Re: Traffic on the Land side of Airport Reg 5

I was going to airport to pick up my family, and didn't know the speed limit was 50km/h, i was thinking 60km/h.

anyways, I was passing this car who was going like 40km/h and probably sped to 90km to pass the car. cop pullmed me over, , gave me a ticket for 70km/h in a 50km zone for sectoin 128 HTA, with a note to contract to Traffic on the Land ...
