A guy I work with had that happen to him. He was making a left turn out of a gas station, traffic had stopped to let him out, but some guy guy ripping up the center turn lane and nailed him. I believe the guy that hit him was deemed at fault.
The officer would of told you if you were at fault at the scene of the accident, no?

Re: Disobey Stop Sign - Sect 136 (1) (A) – Was it me?
"FTS" would most likely mean "Fail To Stop", seeing as that's the offence you're being charged with..... As for the rest, I dunno. I recently got disclosure for a ticket, and had to get an ex cop at the paralegal firm I'm using to decipher it for me.

Re: Red Light Camera Offence - Demerit points & pleading gui
@nagu - I don't see why you would have to go to court if you pay the fine. They're backlogged enough as it is. But if you want a concrete answer just call the court up.
I would, however, advise that you don't use the excuse that you couldn't see the light due to the bus blocking you. You *technically* should of slowed down and proceeded with ...

Re: Red Light Camera Offence - Demerit points & pleading gui
1) You can't get demerit points from a red light camera. You only get points if an officer gives you a ticket for running the red. I don't know how likely it is that they'd reduce your fine, others here can attest to that better than I can.
2) Not sure what you mean. I've never had a red light camera ticket (so I could be wrong here), but on a ...

Re: Is 10 months 26 days long enough to file 11b? Thanks!
The paralegal firm I hired to fight my ticket told me in their experience that it typically takes a delay of at least 13 months to file an 11b successfully.

Re: Driving on the shoulder after being boxed in.
That's about all that will happen, they can't charge you or anything, unless the cop himself witnessed it.
Not entirely true. If the witness can identify you as the driver, you could still be charged. It's probably not likely, and a simple warning is the most likely outcome, but there is no requirement for police to witness any offence. The ...

Re: Driving on the shoulder after being boxed in.
I asked this question once before out of general curiousity. The general consensus was, that if they get your plate number and call it in, the cops may be on the look out for your vehicle, and may follow you to see if they can catch you doing anything else stupid. Some people mentioned receiving letters from the police because they had too many ...

Question about time frames
So I got my notice of my court date to today from the Red Light ticket I received on September 13th, 2010. It was issued the 19th of April. My court date is set for July 7th.
Is this a rather short period of time (the time from when I received the notice of trial date to the actual trial date)? How long would it take for them to process a request ...

Re: First Ticket - 86 in a 60 - Questions
'Requesting Disclosure' simply means finding out all of the relevant information about to your case - in this situation, it would be the officers notes from when he pulled you over. In order to fight your ticket properly, you'll definitely need that info.

Re: 132 on a 60
You didn't get charged with Careless driving, or stunt driving? And he didn't impound your vehicle? Sounds like you got off pretty lucky as it is.
Regarding your second two questions, the reason you were pulled over so far from where you were speeding is most likely because you were going so fast, the cop had to catch up to you first, so I'm not ...

Re: Where to wait to make a left turn at a intersection.
So some guy in a SUV comes tearing up, and decides to try and cut in front of me (instead of pulling in behind the 3 cars behind me).
BUMPER TAG!!
Okay not really...
Although if it does give you any consolation, I did see someone try that when the vehicle in the right lane was a dark Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows. (GEE... I ...

Here is low down. Call of driving complaint of car with plate XXX111, weaving in traffic. Plate is then queried by the call taker/dispatcher and then broadcast to units. If unit in position, will acknowledge and wait for the suspect vehicle. Once officer see vehicle, see if there is any offence being committed (speeding, fail to drive in marked ...

Re: Where to wait to make a left turn at a intersection.
They bottlenecked Vic Park by shutting off the left lane at Lawrence right where the left turning lane for westbound Lawrence started. So people who were trying to turn left got crunched into the right-most lane. The stupid thing was, all of the construction was north of Lawrence, so they could've just kept the left turning lane open and cut off ...

Re: What could happen if someone copies your plate # down...
The only time they could lay a charge based on this kind of complaint is if the offence was in relation to failing to stop for a school bus. The owner can be charged with that offence, but of course only if the complaint gives the officer sufficient grounds to believe the offence has been committed. A ticket for that can come in the mail. All ...

What could happen if someone copies your plate # down.....
And phones it into the Police, saying you were doing "X" (cutting people off, speeding, etc)? I was talking to a friend of mine and his wife, and his wife was telling me that whenever she see crazy drivers she always phones them into the police, so I was curious as to what could potentially happen to the "accused" driver?
