You should still ask for manual even if they wont give it to you, for appeal purposes.

Re: First Timer...Please help!

You can not ever get a reduction in demerit points no matter what. Whatever you are convicted of will have demerits assigned to it, and those are the demerits you will get... there is no after the fact way to reduce them.

But remember that even a 0 demerit point charge can still cause increase in insurance as insurance companies do not care about ...

Re: exceeding speed limit by 15km/h-Trial or Pay?

Just request the "notes of all officers involved" and the "make, model, serial number and manual of speed measuring device used".

They should send you the notes of both, as one officers needs to testify about your speed and about the device used and the other officer needs to testify about identifying you and about writing the ticket.

Re: Red Light - Fail to Stop

So the notes you have would be from the officer that saw you then and not the one that gave you the ticket?
Is there any identifying information on the notes that say what the officers name is?
Officers name that wrote ticket should be on the ticket itself. Is it the same or different?

If the notes you have are from the officer that wrote the ...

Why do you think the officer that saw you run red light and the one that gave you the ticket are two different officers?

Re: exceeding speed limit by 15km/h-Trial or Pay?

I recommend that you plead Not Guilty and request a trial with the officer present. Once you get your Notice of Trial, then you can request disclosure (officers notes and information about radar device used).

BAD NEWS
The reasons you give above in (1) and (2) are not helpful to your ticket at all... they are irrelevent.
If you go to trial and LOSE ...

Re: Red Light - Fail to Stop

You should ask for disclosure of the notes of BOTH officers. If one saw you and the other gave you the ticket, then they both need to testify.

The only way you can beat this is to NOT testify and NOT take the witness stand and NOT admit to anything and NOT give your side of the story. You have the right to remain silent and the right not to ...

Re: Red Light - Fail to Stop

Is your license plate visible in the video going thru intersection?

Explain what you mean by the officer did lose site... Is it just that you are several vehicles ahead with some vehicles in between, or do you go around a corner and out of site, and then the officer takes 45 seconds to get around the corner and get you back in site?

Since you are ...

Your Alberta license would most likely get suspended again. But in reality you probably can't get the suspension lifted until you pay all the fines anyways.

Re: Charged as owner - INSURANCE/ABSTRACT

I can not answer your question directly, however since it was against the OWNER it should not show up on your driving record as you were not charged as the DRIVER.

The best way to confirm is go in to drivers license bureau wherever you live and ask for a copy of your 5-year abstract that insurance companies would get.

Re: No insurance ticket

Get a letter from your insurance company stating that the car in question (make, model, year, vin) was covered on the day of the ticket, and this should be sufficient to get the charge thrown out. Driving with no insurance is something huge like a $5,000 fine so you definitely want to avoid this if possible.

As for the other ticket, it says this ...

Aviva/Traders General ... I would suggest not giving too many details. Don't lie to your insurance company, but be as vague as possible.

No not a typo... there is a very good chance the officer WILL appear and a very very small chance the officer will not appear.
