You're a novice driver. Your speed will be amended back up to 80 during a trial. It's 4 points. Since you're a novice driver under escalating sanctions, your license would be suspended for 30 days should you lose. So take that into consideration.
Yes your insurance could go up. The surcharge is not as bad as your at fault accident however.
If the officer reduced the charge on scene to 15 over, the charge will be amended to whatever it was originally should a trial actually start (e.g. 17km and 3 demerit points versus 15km and 0 demerit points).
You're a fully licensed G driver. The points aren't really going to matter. At 15km, an ...
Not to sound harsh, but at no point does your copy paste material answer any questions for the original poster or have any relevance in a court room.
You're arguing over something that has likely already been voted on and passed by your local municipality. You should probably take it up with them because this is all completely useless for anyone ...
At the offence office where the defendant presents the ticket for a red-light cam offence, the 'not guilty' form provided to fill out and sign has a check box providing the choice (yes / no) of have issuing officer present in court. The issuing officer would be the officer who signed off on the red ...
She only heard of a crying then stopped her car, finding a bicylist fell down behind her car after her turning right along a road from East to West then to North along Brimley Rd. A Police came to investigate the case one day after. He did not lay charge as no any reason and evidence could indicate the bicyclist was bumped by the car. My Mom's ...
There's no summons for a corrective eye wear ticket. It's a set fine...
The poster is talking about an early resolution meeting.
To answer the question, it's possible that they may cut you some slack and drop the ticket with your newly condition free license. However, they are certainly under no obligation to do so. You're required to follow the ...
Went to the first appearance yesterday, got the police notes disclosure, they didn't provide video yet even though I requested for it, the prosecutor won't agree to reduce the points or to a lesser charge or change to 175(owner), I am SOL, will have to hire a lawyer in this case?
Video isn't exactly super common. If it's not available, it can't ...
Obviously, you can't lie in a courtroom or you'd be in more trouble than you're currently in. It's also not up to you to prove your own guilt, although you're certainly free to do so.
You don't have to necessarily hire anybody. Depending on your current insurance situation, it may not even be worth it. You may have not much to lose anyways, so it's not a bad time to do it yourself. The debates and arguments you may have among your friends don't correlate to a courtroom. Your friends might ...
@OP - That's what I would have done too to avoid brake checking or getting rear ended by people. Once I saw the 50 km/h sign I would have slowed down or just stopped accelerating but look what happened. The police rather I brake check someone?
If someone behind you is travelling too close, it's not your responsibility to avoid the brake or keep ...
One last thing to add, the 30 day administrative suspension (if convicted of 40 over) DOES NOT affect insurance, so if you do go to trial and lose, it shouldn't affect your rate, but the charge (whether major or minor) will.
What makes this an ADLS suspension? The sanction suspension is based upon conviction. ADLS suspensions are not. They are ...
Not Necessarily true. My insurance deems 1-29 over as a minor offense, and 30-49 over as a major offense. The difference is a minor offense will yield a 5% increase where a major offense will increase your rates by 100% or even more. It's best to figure out if your insurance company deems a 40 over as major or minor.
The original poster is correct. When they increased the fines and points last year, handheld device charge became apart of the Escalating Sanctions programs. 30 days for first offense, 90 for second, cancellation for third. It can be combined with any 4 point violation.
Anything 1km-49km is going to impact your insurance the exact same way. Insurance doesn't calculate on a per km basis. It's all falls under the minor bracket. What that means is anything that falls under the minor bracket is issued the same surcharge. Example, they may decide that your son is hit with a 5% surcharge for a first offense that falls ...
