Re: Passing on the right on a one lane street!
If it's two marked lanes then Driver A will be at fault. Regardless of anything else it is the person who changes lane's responsibility to make sure the path is clear.

Re: failing to report accident ticket
That's a big allegation to say that an officer is lying in notes. Unlikely seeing as how it could be a career ending action on his part. More likely is that is the information he has or it is an error. Is there any information in the notes to say how he determined the collision took place at 2 pm. He will have to testify to how he made that ...

Re: When best to request disclosure ? ...
The No Insurance ticket will go away if you can show the prosecutor that you did have insurance. The three fail to produce tickets are made out by the fact that you didn't produce those documents so are a bit of a slam dunk if the prosecutor chooses to run with them. That leaves the stunt driving. Do yourself a favour and put out of your mind all ...

Re: driving under medical suspension without knowing HELP
With other suspensions you are 'deemed served' 7 days after they mail a letter to you. If they are saying that they never actually mailed you anything telling you that you were suspended then I would think there is no way that they can get a conviction. However if they are saying that they did mail it then you will have a problem.

Not strictly a win. A win would be beating the evidence. But a withdrawal nonetheless.

Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone
The U.K. Has a good system where if someone complains about a speed limit - normally someone complaining it's too high - they monitor the speed for a period of time and then set the speed limit around the 85th percentile. Often it goes up.
At least that's how they used to do it - now they have just introduced a ton of 20 mph zones which take all ...

Police officers don't create the speed limits, nor do they write the laws. Have you written to your MLA ?

Re: Ticketed for No Mudgaurds
I wish officers wouldn't say that. I think it's very poor policing saying something to placate someone now knowing that it may not, in fact, be true. As mentioned before, far better to have a driver come to the station within 48 hours showing the issue to be rectified and then not file the ticket - although we've already discussed how e-tickets ...

Re: Ticketed for No Mudgaurds
Don't count on the notes not being good based on the length of the stop. The notes will have been made after you drive away. If he testifies that the tire extended past the body of the vehicle then you're in trouble at trial.

You will be sent a notice of suspension if they haven't received the payment in time. You are 'deemed served' 7 days after the mailing date of that letter.

The section does not specify that you only have to have mudguards if it's raining. You need them all the time.

That is not such a bad idea....even online where yes, someone else could take it for you, but at least you'd had the opportunity to learn the changes.

Re: Ticket Invalid?
It's worth checking but it's likely that the officer made a mistake on the ticket and the JP quashed it. But the correspondence should be clearer for you and it may be you just entered the wrong ticket number. Definitely follow this up asap but my bet is you got a freebie.

Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone
I had a look at Google maps. The sign saying the speed drops to 80 is clearly visible. If you've driven the road quite a lot then you're just not paying attention. Having said that the trouble with roadside signs on multi lane roads is that you could have a truck in the curb lane which you are overtaking slowly and it could shield the sign entirely.

People can make their own mind up. Follow jsherk's advice and get every ticket possible or be respectful and pleasant. No-one is saying to blurt out 'you're right officer, I was speeding and don't have any insurance', but to pull the old 'I'm only speaking to you because I have to, am I being detained, etc etc' is not the advice I give my friends.
