Swerving lanes?
Just a curious question that came to my mind during my drive to school. I was on my way, heavy traffic as usual during rush hour. Traffic was moving at approx. 40km/h in a 60 km/h zone. All of a sudden I see a black car doing approx. 60 km/h swerving through lanes. My question to you guys is, what charge could be laid if an officer pulled him over ...

Re: Who is at fault
Juat curious. Even though the black SUV didn't stop, it held it's lane, and the vehicle with the dash cam made no attempt to he their lane. So wouldn't that be an unsafe lane change by the DashCam vehicle therefore 100% fault for the dash cam vehicle?

Re: Who Are You?
1) this is the general public expressing their opinions. As far as I know, it could be a police officer, Justice of Peace, Prosecutor, Justin Trudeau, Donald Trump, etc. Best thing about being anonymous, no one comes after you. Personally, I'm a 21 year old college kid who knows the law a little too well.

Re: received 5 Summons , need some help on what to do
Don't quote me on this, but you're supposed to apply for a permit within 7 days of purchase (or something like that), reason why you got #5. Since you never applied for the permit, that explains #1. Dealer plates can only be used if the vehicle is owned by the dealership, which explains 2 and 4. Usually garsge/ dealer insurance covers those ...

I can't edit my previous post. But for clarification, she paid it, then took the money from me if people are wondering.

Re: Open Alcohol - In The Trunk, out of reach
Thanks for all the input. I knew that we could have properly gotten it dropped, but she was paranoid and paid it off the next day.
Also, jsherk, I thought because it was an LLA offense, it wouldn't show up on her drivers abstract (32(1)). At least that's what her co-worker told her (She works as a Lawyers assistant at a Law Firm handling Insurance ...

Open Alcohol - In The Trunk, out of reach
So as I start, first I'd like to say that I paid the ticket, just wanted your opinion on the matter.
So labour day weekend, I went clubbing with my girlfriend. I had A LOT to drink, she had nothing (designated driver/responsible one out of the two of us). Anyways, I was drinking in the parking lot, and had half a bottle of vodka left over, so put ...

Re: Phone meeting with prosecutor NEXT WEEK! Please help
First off, let me clarify the meaning "Early Resolution". A lot of people believe this is where you can walk in, and pray that the prosecutor drops the charge, no. I think the old title of this would be better, which was "GUILTY WITH AN EXPLINATION". It's HIGHLY unlikely that this will get dropped, but then again I got Stunt reduced to 15 Over ...

Re: Phone meeting with prosecutor NEXT WEEK! Please help
Usually what happens in these early resolution meetings is the prosecutor tells you what you were charge with, and then offer you a reduced charge if they want. You could probably get it reduced to Left Turn - Not in Safety which carries a fine of $110 and 2 points. If you agree to it, they'll explain how to pay it, if you try and challenge what ...

Re: 116KM/hr in 100KM/hr seriously?
Keep in mind, 16 over carries a total fine of $55 and 3 demerit points. If worst comes to worse, see if the prosecutor will offer a plea to 15 over. Some may argue that its only 1 km, but the total fine is $52.50 and 0 Points.

This car wouldn't happen to be a black Dodge Avenger would it? I got pulled over in a rental because of the same thing. I showed the cop my rental agreement, and he didn't charge me. Maybe the luck of the draw I guess. But ultimately, you should not have given the rental company the ticket. They could forget to pay it and have no ...

Re: Ticketed For Parking in a Handicap Spot
Just Re-opining this thread. So I took pictures of the area on the next day after I received the ticket, but used my cell phone. I took pictures last night using the Court Guidelines (Raw Format, Time and Date Stamped, Etc.). Would they still be able to be used in court?

Re: Ticket In Dryden, ON HWY 17 29km/hr OVR
Remember, speeding is an absolute liability charge. If you go in saying that you were speeding, but doing 110, not 119, they will easily convict you. Just keep that in mind when preparing your defense.

I guess maybe he saw it was my birthday and decided not to ruin my day? I honestly don't know and I am WILLING TO PAY the ticket. Just all my family is saying to fight it, so I thought I'd come here and get an unbiased opinion on the situation from random strangers.

Stunt Reduced to 15 Over
Good Morning Everyone,
So just so happened to be my birthday, as well as my grandmother's funeral today. I currently am still in shock over the passing and sometimes zone out and think to myself. This morning, I didn't happen to pay attention to my speed, and that's when I got clocked. The officer pulled out from a plaza, almost ramming my car ...
