Re: Need help to decode police note and diretion

Speeding 49 over = $359
Speeding 77 over = $750.75 + victim surcharge + court fees
Stunt Driving = minimum $2000, up to 2 year license suspension, possible 6 months in jail.

So it's either you pay the $359, or you could go to trial and risk getting charged minimum $3000, plus any suspension/jail they offer if you lose. I'd go in and see if they ...

Re: Stunt and Speeding, potential for 11b?

Has anyone successfully employed 11b in their defence?

I don't think the 11b would work if some adornments were at your "roomate's" fault. The 11b would only be at the fault of the prosecutor. If it was caused by the prosecutor, then an 11b should work.

What about using my friend's obvious mental illness as a defence? his argument of "not ...

Re: The idea of failing to provide DL

Dangerous driving and impairs are criminal, not HTA.

Re: The idea of failing to provide DL

Not really. Criminal charges are very serious. I'd honestly rather get charged for every single violation in the HTA than 1 criminal offense. Criminal offenses show up on background checks, so applying for jobs would be affected, plus I know for certain criminal charges you can't leave the country with (I.e. Vacation, visiting family). I'd rather ...

Re: Wasn't wearing seatbelt, was delivering a pizza...

So had the trial what do you want me to do or say? ( I already had the early resolution meeting )

I will plead guilty, and then ?...

The clerk will hand you a piece of paper, you walk to the cashier, and pay your fine. The conviction will stay on your record for 3 years (may or may not affect insurance), and demerit points (if any) for 2 years ...

Re: URGENT: London, ON voting on RED LIGHT CAMERAS

I wish red light tickets took pictures of the driver, and not the plate. Yes I know it has no insurance complications, but on 2 instances where my father got a red light ticket on a shared vehicle, no one wants to admit they ran the red. So my dad makes all of my siblings pay for the ticket, which I find is stupid.

Re: Wasn't wearing seatbelt, was delivering a pizza...

I would suggest you not to lie in court. Perjury is a serious offense (Criminal) and frankly isn't worth losing a few points. It looks like the officer has a pretty air tight disclosure, mentioning your shirt colour, making you re-fasten your seat belt. I would honestly take any plea deal they offer.

Re: Wasn't wearing seatbelt, was delivering a pizza...

Did you fax in your disclosure request? I haven't heard of a courthouse that accepts disclosure requests by email. Secondly, most of the time, they usually make you pick it up from the courthouse, so I'd send another request in and see if you get a response on that one.

Re: 2 tickets, 2 different courthouses. Cop says Quota Syste

The OP didn't upload his tickets. I did. What I was trying to show is that I believe that he is telling the truth behind the false charges. My headlights weren't out but I still got charged for it. Bear in mind, I was originally pulled for Stunt Driving, and he gave me a break, which is what I'm assuming happened to the OP.

Re: 2 tickets, 2 different courthouses. Cop says Quota Syste

The officer who charged me was really nice, so I really don't want to get him in trouble (hence blacking out almost every detail), however, I actually have proof of this happening. Check the time on both tickets and the handwriting as well.

Hopefully I don't get a cop coming to my door with a summons.. :(

Personally, if it could happen to me ...

Same thing happened to me at Derry and Goreway. Got improper license plate light and improper headlights. One in Mississauga, one in Brampton if I'm not correct?

I'm calling the op is telling the truth.

Re: pulled over going 166 400 south 17 years old g2

Let me guess, he was sitting on the side right after finch, and pulled you right under the bridge. Sounds like exactly what happened to me about a month ago. Just to keep in mind, since you only have your G2, you will receive an immediate 30 day suspension due to the novice escalating driving sanctions (any offense 4 points or higher) upon ...

Re: 2 Tickets Same Time, Different Courthouses

JSherk,

I actually had a guy in a truck pull up beside me last night to tell me my brake light was out. Got home and got the girlfriend to sit in the car and press the brake for me. Sure enough, the third brake light (one in the middle) was out. I was completely stumped as maybe it was out since October and I'm now noticing it.

Re: Please Turn On Your Lights...

It just annoys the hell out of me when on dim lit parts on the 401 (between 410 and 427) and the 407 (east of Markham road), your casually cruising at 110-120, and then you have to slam your beaks because some idiot decides to drive in the middle lane, doing 80, with no lights on.
