Re: A loud exhaust message from Harley Davidson
That (along with paying attention to your surroundings) prevents people from turning in front of bikes 9 times out of 10.

Of all the times I've been waiting to turn/pull onto a road and had a motorcycle with obnoxiously loud pipes go by me, the thing that stopped me from turning was the fact that I SAW the bike, not heard it. I only heard ...

Paralegal... don't know what their rates are, they vary. There's a form to fill out at the bottom of the page for a no-obligation quote, if you'd like.
Speeding 49 km/h over would be less than a $500 fine. I don't have my fine/surcharge table in front of me so I can't say for sure.

Agreed, hence why most officers lay a CARELESS...
In that case, yes.
Also they have drawn a road that travels west but the next nearest intersection goes east. Any thoughts on this matter?
Main issue is, does the accident report depict the actual collision scene more or less correctly? (Cars/angles/etc) Unless the intersections were ...

I have never missed a single court appearance in 22 years, this is true for most officers. Granted in the big cities probably less so.

Another question, if i pay, is this considered a minor offense or no?

Re: A loud exhaust message from Harley Davidson
Some motorcyclists profess to believe that "loud pipes save lives," although research tends to contradict that popular axiom. (Few of those who say they want exhaust noise for safety's sake use other means—such as brightly colored apparel—which have been proven effective.)

Re: Wrong Name on Court Date Letter
Received 'Trial Letter' and date in the mail, however the WRONG name was printed. The name transposed from the citation was incorrect.
How "incorrect" was it? Was it off by one or two letters, or was the entire name completely wrong?
Either way, call the courthouse and get this situation resolved. Even if your name was incorrect, they'll ...

Just read the Toronto v. Baillie decision. It's unfortunate, as I think the JP's erred here.
At least the Crown introduced some evidence that purported to show that the following distance was "unsafe." All it did, though, was just show the distance required to stop if approaching a stationary object, not following a moving one.

Re: 160km/h on the QEW Niagara going to Hamilton
Speeding is difficult to beat. If they want an easy conviciton, they'll drop stunt and go for speeding 60 km/h over (s. 128). Depending on what the officer observed (disclosure will tell more), the stunt charge could be beaten without too much effort, now that the Ontario Court of Appeal has clarified exactly how strict liability will be applied to ...

Re: Fail to stop for school bus-owner/G2/effect on insurance
If charged as the vehicle owner, there is no effect on insurance premiums. It also does not go on your driver record. Charging the owner is almost exactly like getting a parking ticket. Parking tickets do not affect your premiums, same idea here. They cannot use an offence where the charge is laid against the owner (e.g. red light camera, photo ...

Re: Going to court this week for Improper right turn
I'd go check with City Hall and come back with a stack of documents showing that you could not find the by-law. If no by-law exists, according to O.Reg 615, the sign is not valid and is not enforceable.
Long story short: File the 11B. 17 months for a simple "proceed contrary to sign at intersection" is ridiculous. And this delay wasn't your fault ...

Second paragraph seems a bit irrelevant. I'd leave it out.

Re: Top Ten EASY Ways to Dodge a Ticket!
Plus the obvious...
1. Pay attention when driving. Inattentiveness is the #1 cause of collisions. A collision is an easy way to get a ticket.
People are so zoned out and not watching the road, I've seen at least a dozen people in the past year blow past me, rocket on ahead, and then blow past a marked police car. I don't know how it could be ...
