Re: Court Date Approaching- What options do I have?

not to be fecicious, but what does your mail box have to do with your licence expiring?

if you look down the fourth column on your licence card:
4b Iss/DEL 4b EXP/EXP.

it clearly states WHEN your licence expires
and more than likely it was on your birthday..

you MAY get lucky and one of the two cops dont show. in that case, it probably would get withdrawn.

thats a scenario that may play out--if both show---well; different story.

Re: Red light camera ticket while turning right

you must come to a complete stop even making a right on a red. the HTA doesnt state a time frame for how long you must stop. it could be for a millionth of a nanosecond or three seconds, 5 seconds, 5 years whatever.
fight it. why give the province or city any more money. its worth a shot.

Re: Define Abussive and Uncooperative

Some cops have it in there heads that not consenting to a search is a sign of defiance and therefore is grounds alone for "probable cause"--they see it as trying to hide something- not one excercising there Charter of Rights.

damned if you do and damned if you dont. either way, hes the one with the gun.

Re: once i got my appeal date --what happens at court?

Also, I have heard that Appeal judges can be particular. I would hire representation.

Particular ..I can see that.

However--my case is cut and dry-
the officer issued me a certificate of offence for 32km/h over the posted limit.
he then fined me $120 set fine and $150 total payable. I dont show up in front of the JP on my court date and a ...

before you pull me over i stuff it in my pocket

According to two friends I have with the Ottawa Police...
"You cannot search the person to find the instrument." Exactly as you said.

They can't search you personally but they can search the car. So if you stuff the detector down your shirt, well, you might be home free... not that I'm ...

Re: Typical fine for studded tires in Southern Ontario?

theres a few places along Highway 17 Cavers Hill, Rossport, Montreal River Harbor where I actually think the MTO is irresponsible for not having pull offs and a chain up reguirement for trucks during certain weather
Ive spun out many times attempting to pull a set of b-trains up those hills in the winter only to have to wait for the salter or ...

Re: Failing to provide drivers license

He was pulled over by an "off duty" police officer who flashed his tin.
he requested a uniformed on duty officer to attend THEN produced his license.

sounds to me like the cop was just being a jerk because he made him go to the trouble of demanding a uniformed officer attend., And wrote ...
