Does your ticket have a check in the witness box?

Dont focus your case on the PM/AM box. Its probably not a fatale error. If you want a typed version of the notes, you may need to contact the officer.

Tanks liveontheedge

I got really good info from this site. I formatted disclosure as recommended by Ticketcombat, but even then I didnt realize there were two officers.

Its not an urban legend. Sometimes, officers dont show up. My guesstimate is about 1 in 10 to 1 in 30 cases.

The only other thing I can recommend is to show up early at trial. I ...

Re: Stopping two cars, act 2

I finally got my day in court. The room was packed, filled with all sorts of people, all ages, gender, even military personnel. First came some shuffling of cases. Then the JP advised everyone in the court room that "Its your constitutional right to have a trial and if you plead guilty you forfeit that right." Next came cases pleading guilty or ...

Stopping two cars, act 2

As luck would have it, I had a work conflict with my original trial date. I phoned the Court House for adjournment. I was instructed to go to the Court House and fill out this form. Off I went, with supporting documentation in hand.

"You need to fill out this form and give it to the prosecutors office."

So I filled out the form, and off I went ...

Re: Cruise control and speeding?

Hi Scorchedmoon:

I had cruise on at 110 to 115 kph in a 100 kph zone. A speeder went by me, and I got popped for a 127 kph ticket in a 100 kph zone.

Re: Stopping two cars

Hi Bear:

As possibly the only one with lidar experience on this board, have you ever clocked two cars, one at 500 m and the other directly behind at 570m, and then managed to stop both cars by yourself ? (without causing an accident :) )

Re: Stopping two cars

Hi Bear:

I like your new avatar. Must check donut specifications - diameter, glazing thickness, and, most important, freshness. :)

Ive never used a lidar.

I look at health products and products that can have an impact on health. I cant see how a lidar can measure the speed of car2. The angles are too tight.

Hard to do, unless you have a really, really good excuse, like youre having surgery that day and youve been waiting six months for it.

Re: Stopping two cars

I dont doubt that if two vehicles are in the same beam, experience says that a lidar will reject both and display an error message and no speed reading. I have no problems in seeing a lidar being able to get the speed of car1, but the angles for car2 are really tight. Im guessing the lidar for car2 would need to be moved from whats in the NURBS ...

Re: Stopping two cars

Hi Bear:

Thats what Im wondering about. A lidar doesnt send a constant beam, but a series of pulses. Theres a microprocessor inside the lidar which tries to make sense of all signals received from all those pulses. Its going to try to get an average speed and throw out what could be noise. What if it locks onto car1s speed and thinks car2s speed ...

thanks admin. It's working

NURBS setup. Two cars, one at 500m and one at 570m. Laser offset, 10m. The laser beam is a cone, 600m long and 1.8m at the base.

Re: Stopping two cars

Im a nerd by nature,, and last night I did a few computations. The officer was standing at approx. 10m off the road. Minimum stooping distance for a car going 130kph is just over 80m, screech, screech, panic brake. Controlled stopping distance for a car going 130Kph is about 200m to 400m. I was about 100 to 200 feet behind the lead car, min ...

Re: notice of motion?

It sounds like the prosecutor is looking to change your trial date in January. The Affidavit may be from the officer stating a reason why he cannot attend your trial. You should go on November 25. It will show you are actively engaged in the process and not just a silent bystander.

You could book both days off work, November 25 and the trial date ...

Re: Stopping two cars

Im certain many officers have no problems placing crosshairs of a laser on any car in traffic, but the light beam coming out of a laser is not a small dot. Most lasers have a beam that diverges at a rate of about 30cm/100m. That means your dot is really a 30cm circle at 100m. Go to 300m and the circle grows to 90cm, or about 3 feet. Any car going ...

Stopping two cars

I was on my way to work on a divided four lane highway. I was in the right hand lane following the flow of traffic. There was a slower car ahead of me and I wanted to change lanes and maintain my speed. When I looked in my left side mirror, I notice a red car going pretty fast in the passing lane, so I slowed down and waited. Once the speeder had ...
