Failing To Display Two Plates

Unread post by Avangel »

Stopped at a ride program and officer informed me my front plate was missing. Unaware it had fallen off on the runway just prior. Issued ticket.

Unfortunately the way i had my plate attached wasnt up to par. Bought the car new three weeks ago and it had no holes drilled in the bumper and no plate holder affixed. Lesson learned, will have a more secure device of attachment before vehicle is on public roads again.

No plate on so obviously guilty of offense no argument there.

referring to second option of ticket, guilty with explanation. Does a justice of the peace have the ability to dismiss a charge? If the jp sees it fit for a dismissal obviously.

I seem to have come up with my information which is what I assumed.

Under option 2, I believe that a jp cannot dismiss a charge. That will be the decision of the court when taken to court.

Correct, if you pick option 2-(Guilty with explanation) then it is the same as being found guilty at trial. The conviction will appear on your record, in this situation the Justice of the Peace can adjust the fine imposed but he can't dismiss the charge. If you want a shot at getting the charge dismissed you need to pick option 3 and request a trial.
