Re: Suggestions for first ticket

There is never an original registration in a rental vehicle or a company vehicle driven by an employee, etc.

There is however, always an original insurance pink slip.

Re: I have purchased a 'RockyMounts Backstage'

Is a driver allowed to tow a "Device" without a plate, such as a wheeled cement mixer or large wheeled air compressor, etc. ?

As long as it isn't more than 1.5 meters past the rear of the vehicle, I understood it didn't require a red flag or even a license plate ??

Re: Pedestrian Disobey Red Light

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're NOT operating a motor vehicle and a peace officer suspects you've committed an offence, all that is legally required is that you provide satisfactory identification, ie Ontario Health Card, passport, etc. Surrendering a driver's licence is not required and shou...

Re: I didn't get a ticket, but need help on some research.

This topic was discussed recently on a trucking program that airs on SIRIUS XM satellite radio station 146. Program LAND LINE NOW covers trucking issues (mostly USA), including a recent report on snow falling off vehicles. Here is the link: http://www.landlinemag.com/story.aspx?storyid=71520#.Wl0IK5...

Re: Summons for HTA 82 (9)

Thanks.

I've always had a refund coming when I sold a vehicle so I guess I inadvertently did the right thing by claiming the refund at Service Ontario.

Re: bicycle fails to trip green light sensor coil

Small blocks of metal are sold especially for this problem and can be attached to the bottom of bicycles, footwera and motorcycles so that the wires in the ground can detect a "vehicle". Usually you can see the wire's location imbedded into the pavement. http://www.instructables.com/id/Traffic-Light...

Re: Construction zone - no speed limit posted

If the 80 KPH signs were made by some construction company and do not meet the regulation size, etc., the speed limit would still be 100 KPH. Have someone take a picture of the 80 KPH signs and compare it to the regulations. https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/900615 ***I am not a lawyer, I have ...

If an officer shows up at your door, you definitely want to exercise your right to remain silent.
Be polite and say you're not interested in answering any questions .... period.

If you happened to be going in the opposite direction to the bus and there was a raised median, you actually don't have to stop.

Re: 49 km/h over & fail to surrender permit MV- First Offens

Speed limit signs that are installed by construction companies in construction zones often do not conform to the prescribed regulation size. How would someone demonstrate to a Justice Of The Peace that the dimensions are wrong, when there is no safe way to stop and measure the sign in a construction...

Re: Valid Motorcycle Insurance

I'm no expert, but ..... Your USA insurance provider probably issued your policy based upon the rating area that you live in (US address). You may void the policy if you fail to notify them that you have moved out of that rating area. At that point, they may cancel your policy because you are now li...
