My apologies if you misunderstood but we are well aware of the requirements to licence and insure our off road vehicles. Yes we do have a plate (green) and yes we do have insurance through our auto insurance company. As I explained a 2 UP machine defined under the HTA Regulation 316-3 it is considered an ORV and not an ATV even though the only ...

I was parked in a parking lot in quebec with my (ontario licensed) car and found an "unofficial looking" square peice of paper on my driver seat when I returned to my car. It was all in french with checkmarks on it. I had no idea what it was so I threw it out. Two weeks later I received an official ticket sent to my home address in Ontario. The ...

My friend went to downtown and decided to park on the street. He purchased the parking ticket and placed it on the dashboard. Re: Got speeding ticket on 400 hwy
IMO you should always choose the trial option. Get your notice of trial, and request disclosure: officer's notes & copy of speed measuring device's manual. After you review the officer's notes you can then decide whether you're going to fight it or cut a deal with the prosecutor at your trial date. Trial option also gives you an 'officer no-show ...

Hi Everybody,
A friend of mine today got into a car accident as she was turning left into her driveway.
Basically this is what happened, she was driving on a residential street,
there are no markings on the street to seperate lanes but it's still a 2 way street (cars are allowed to head north and south on the street).

he did commit the offense, the pots were in a garbage bag that was tied up. Somehow the garbage bag got ripped. The bag itself was secure. I find it hard to believe that they would ticket him for that...at least a warning....when you see old mattresses on highways and couch cushions on roads.

According to the letter they were auxiliary officers. The driver recalls seeing them from way down the road and says they were standing on the corner but did not see a car or a measurement device. According to her, she always drives at or about the limit.

I came across a letter mailed to a family member from the local police station stating that a car displaying plates registered to them was seen going 7 kph over the limit. It states that they should make sure that whoever is driving the car, does so more carefully and that no other action is necessary.

from my understanding;
option 2 is a one on one with the prosecutor, who will look over your file and make you an offer (if one is available)

Should I ask for trial?

Stranger things have happened.
at the end of the day, you have 2 options
dont challange it, get a conviction.
challange it, and you always have a chance of something, errors, not turning up,
you still can get a conviction, but at least if you challange it, there is a slim chance, if you don't theres no chance.
depends if you have the time ...

Certainly don't plead guilty to the charge as it stands. At the very least request a first attendance meeting and see what type of plea deal is offered.
I'm not sure what your chances of fighting the actual careless charge would be. While you're not expected to drive with perfection, your initial mistake followed by a serious over reaction would ...

I am a fully licensed driver and got a speeding ticket on the 401 going 130km/h (unfortunately I got caught just at that moment). The OPP officer didn't give me a reduction on the spot.
The fine is $220.00 and from what I've read, 4 demerit points. I've also called my insurance company and my insurance will go up 5% (thankfully, my entire ...
